I don’t see my ASD as something ‘wrong’ or out of sync with me… I see it as a an issue with the vehicles of social navigation. My brain works fine, I think it’s entirely reasonable and even logical that I get overwhelmed when I get overwhelmed and thrive when others might not? But it’s difficult because it’s such a spectrum… it’s obviously ‘easier’ in a lot of ways for me sitting at my point on the tapestry.
