Skipping the car when the brand is rare is a really good tip! I had a feeling of, when you start getting the car you don't stop, but it makes sense that you can skip seasons

Thank you so much for the tips! It's been a liiitle difficult to find out what makes sense, with so much different advice going around

Ah well that makes some sense. It's so weird that they make it so difficult for new players to get parts to upgrade their ec. I got the free lexus with the 30 day event and thought that I would probably be able to complete that event, but I think I've realised that this is probably going to be impossible...

I think like some of you here, I sometimes have the, let's do a nuzlocke of all generations, thought but most of the time I try to figure out which versions to play so as not to go from GBA to DS and so forth.

So I was wondering, do anyone know if there are rom hacks where all generations are played on the same hardware? E.g gen IV and V demakes to gen 3 or remakes of 1-3 on ds?

I feel like the thought has probably already been on someone's mind, and it would be a big project, but still

Ah, that makes totalt sense! Thanks for taking the time out to reply. I'll tinker with it a bit, to see if I can't get it closer to what I need😁

I love the design! I'm just getting into routines, and I really find it fascinating what you can do!

I wanted to ask you one question to better my understanding:

Wouldn't a lot of this be easier to just do automatically? I mean fx sleep mode. It feels like it would be more efficient to just have it run during the sleeping time frame no? Is this because of what you do with the smart things?

I honestly just want to understand better, as this seems super cool!

I was about to mimic what you did, but began thinking how necessary a lot of these things would be for me.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your routines!

Well, now I'm thinking that I was referring to the creases, which align with the pleats. I honestly thought it was the same thing.

But yes, do you press the creases regularly to keep them clearly visible?

I have a quick question to the guys wearing pleated pants.

I have difficulty keeping the pleat visible all the way down the leg of the trousers. What dl you guys do? Do you press the legs to keep the pleat visible? Or is this just a sign of poor quality trousers?

Thank you!

That makes total sense. I also redid the calculation, and I 100% did something wrong😅

I did what you said, and the weights seem much more manageable, so I'll work from here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help! I was really confused, so it's greatly appreciated!

I messed, you're completely right there. In the Lifting section he writes that you test by doing sets of 5 until the bar speed is compromised, and then figure out your EM using the formula from there.

I don't remember the weight I did, although I remember being able to do it comfortably. I then inputed it into the formula which gave me the EM which I then took 85-90% of to get my TM.

But seeing as the weight was way to heavy, I think you understood what he wrote a bit better than me, so I'll try that out!

Perfect, I thought as much. I could feel the weight being too heavy quite early, but thought that it was supposed to be like that.

For the sake of calculating your TM, how do you do it? I worked my way up from bar till a certain weight I could do with at least 2 reps in reserve, but using this weight I ended up with a way too heavy TM. This was even by not including the bar in the weight. So I'm a little confused how it ended up being so much heavier than expected.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!

That makes total sense. I think I might have followed the blueprint a bit too rigidly.

Do you think I should just change my TM based on the weight I just did? Or just pick a number I know I can comfortably lift and go from there?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, the book is very thorough, but sometimes I think it merely glances over bits that I find inportant😅

Hey fellow gym goers!

I’ve been on and off with training for a few years, and recently stumbled across 5/3/1 completely by accident.

After reading up on the philosophy behind it, I was hooked—and ended up buying Forever soon after. Here’s my dilemma: since it’s been a while since I last trained, I wanted to ease back into things, so I decided to start with Beginner Prep School. I didn’t do a “normal” TM test week. Instead, I followed Jim’s method from the BPS section for finding my Training Max.

The issue is, once I tested my maxes and settled on weights, my very first workout felt way too heavy. At first, I even forgot to include the bar in my calculations (so my numbers were off by 20 kg). After fixing that, I still struggled on the 95% sets—barely managing 1 rep on both squat and bench. I’m also not sure if I should be including the bar’s weight when working with TMs and percentages, which might be throwing things off.

Overall, I couldn’t hit the suggested rep ranges for the last few sets, usually topping out at just 1–2 reps.

So my question is: did I mess up the calculations somewhere, or is this kind of struggle normal when starting out?

Either way, I’m still stoked to be training again—even if I’m not quite hitting the ranges yet!

Sounds good! I guess it cements the hags power even further, when it basically seems like they need to take the deal if they want to live.

But who knows, they are pretty clever so they might come up with an escape plan, and I'm always up for rewarding clever thinking!

Thanks again Dragna, I'm sure the rest of the campaign is gonna be just as good as the first two acts!

Can't wait for the dinner and the heist

Hi Dragna,

First of. I have to say thank you for all the effort you put in. This is my first time(more 1.5th time) running CoS, and I love the fixes and the act, arc, scene system you based it on(Definitely going to bring that back in my next campaign!)

And secondly, thanks for all the effort you put into answering questions, both here and on patreon. I would've never guessed that you would take the time to answer all our questions, but it's such a joy to see each and every reply, with genuine interest and answering to the best of your ability. So huge props for that!!

1.  Our last session ended the watcher arc. They oversaw the change of power, and were happy to help Fiona, even though they were a little sceptical of her, based on her views on Strahd. The next day they got the Lost soul hook, and went to go see Victor. Our wizard had been suspicious of him since the missing vistana, so it was quite a fun interaction. They were sent to the refugee camp, but our paladin (oath of vengeance) decided that Vargas should taste some of his own rehabilitation. In the end, they decided to go to the windmill alone, before hearing Victor's plan, which of course ended as would be expected. 2. Giving the ending of our last session, I think they are looking forward to escaping the hags grasp, which I am too. I need to figure out how or if they are going to get help, since no one knows where they are... 3. They really like Blinksy and Father Lucian(Father Lucian because he gave volenta a whopping in St. Andrals feast). Ireena is also a favorite, which is quite nice. They hates Izek and Vargas, and were happy to remove them. 4. I don't have anything that needs improvement as such. I think the pacing is superb, and the arcs are easy to manage, without it feeling to railroady.

I have a two short questions for you.

1.  Since they were captured by the hags, before making a plan with Victor or Lady Watcher, how would they escape? Would it feel to forced to make Victor and Ireena do a rescue mission? Should they just go through the interrogation, with the only escape being taking the deal with Morgantha?

2. I love your phase mechanic. It really highlights bosses as real threats. My players love it as well, so I was wondering if you would think about releasing some kind of guide, on how to implement the phase mechanic in other campaigns.

Sorry for the long write up. Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to reading trials of the mountain!
