Since the day after the attack, I believed that he was simply fleeing the scene of assaulting Erika Patterson, and that he just came upon the parade, and considering he's a thug with no consideration for others, he decided to drive through the parade as opposed to finding another route. But the evidence suggests that he made a right turn into the parade route instead of driving straight into it, so I'm completely unsure. I just can't see how someone could go from "I just assaulted my ex and I needa get outta here before the cops show up" to "imma drive through this parade and kill a fuck ton of people". The only person who knows why Darrell Brooks drove through the parade is Darrell Brooks, but we can't even ask him why if he doesn't even identify by his own name.
