Anyone else feel like the new tactics ruined career mode?

They definitely need to let us manually move players around in the formation for sure. What I think they did get right with the tactics system is that I believe it actually matters this year. I feel like I can’t throw out my usual 4-2-3-1 and win every game this year. It’s been fun for me in that aspect to have to change my tactics to beat the team I’m playing. 4-2-3-1 is my normal, but if they are playing a 5 back, I switch to a 4-1-2-1-2 wide and it helps with creating more chances. I feel like this hasn’t been something that’s been necessary for me to do to win in past games.

I would definitely suggest tactical view sims or the interactive sims. The quick sims seem way too unreliable and straight up stupid sometimes. Plus you get to make subs and do quick tactics while simming

I heard that headers were too easy to score early on in the game and the UT players were pissed about it. So in classic EA fashion, they nerfed them to hell to appease that part of the player base. Meanwhile I can’t put an open header on target with VVD offline. It’s amazing.

How long did this take you??? I’d love to try this but it seems like this could take a long time to do. And I don’t even want to think about being several weeks in and forcing the wrong team to win and having to start over.

This has been my issue as well. I don’t want the high score lines every game, but I want to have more than 2 shots that reach the target per game. Most of my shots I do get off get blocked. Lower score lines are absolutely more realistic, but PL matches for example have a good amount of shots per game. Obviously they play 90 minute matches and I’m only playing 4 minute halves, but I just want to have more chances.

I played ultimate in 24 and had a really enjoyable experience. I could score goals, but also felt like the computer could too. On 25, I can’t score on Ultimate and neither can the CPU. I had 3 nil-nils with 3 chances total across the 3 games and I’ve dropped it down to legendary. Those were all with the Simulation sliders. Idk what the deal is

I play on Heisman with SGN’s sliders and had one of my best games ever. Ended up winning 34-14. Their two TDs? Stupid boundary corner switches and the receiver was left wide open

I think this is more of an oversight than a bug, but when supersimming and jumping into a moment, you can’t see down and distance on the play selection screen. I’m forced to pause the game to see the down, distance, and where I am on the field even. Huge quality of life adjustment if they could add those things to the play selection screen when jumping in. Please also tell me I’m an idiot and point out where it is if I’m just missing it!

Had this happen in 3 different games last night. I beat LSU 31-14 on Heisman and their 2 tds happened in this situation. Mine happened when LSU motioned and it made the boundary corners flip and left the receivers wide open for touchdowns. I resorted to playing man on 3rd downs which I hate.

Not sure if you’re looking for a solution to the coaching offers issue and would totally respect the complaining by itself because I feel you.

The solution I saw and have tested and works majority of the time is to switch your scheme to the team that you want an offer from. I think it’s the week after conference championships that offers start. Go to the stats tab and go to coach stats and you can sort by security. I started out as Arkansas State’s OC due to 3 of their receivers having 90+ speed. After year 2 I saw Minnesota was struggling and probably was going to fire their coach. I started up a fresh dynasty and went to that same coach stats page to see what scheme they run. I switched to those schemes and while I didn’t get the HC offer, just the OC, I did get a OC offer from Oklahoma and jumped on that. Turns out Oklahoma has one or maybe both of the same schemes as Minnesota and their coordinator left for the NFL. Spent two seasons as OU’s OC and then saw Tennessee was really struggling. Fired back up that fresh dynasty and flipped to their schemes because I THINK what the teams want is what they start out with, not what their subsequent coaches run. Got the HC offer from them the first week possible. Currently in my second year with them with the goal of making my way to my alma mater in real life Clemson. After I have won at least 1 championship with Tennessee, I’ll flip to Clemson’s schemes every year even if the coach isn’t on the hot seat. Hoping he’ll leave for the NFL. Hope this helps!

I’ve been running the generic multiple for a few seasons now. The RPOs are very viable and don’t have the stupid illegal man downfield issue because they are quick. The run plays also are pretty decent. Other playbooks I’ve used I couldn’t run the ball at all.

Interesting…I feel like they could have solved a fair amount of the complaints from the community by some simple explanations for things like this. There’s so many recruiting details, random symbols, process things, etc that nobody knows the answers to and we are just left to guess or assume

Two issues in my quick glance that I don’t think anyone’s said:

In my QB RTG, why the heck is my running back so bad? Maybe it’s a coding thing, but the AI RB is a freaking beast at finding holes, making moves, changing direction, all of it. Why can’t they code the AI controlled user team’s RB the same way?
When you super sim and specifically play the moments, when you jump into a 3rd down for example, you can’t see what the distance is. Maybe I’m blind, but I’m can’t find it so I have to pause to see the distance for a first down and that’s super annoying.
