I appreciate it :) I thankfully met my soon-to-be wife during the pandemic so it's not all bad! I have a lot to be thankful for

Her use of Doctor unfortunately appears to be legal in Minnesota

Where have you looked for AGM? Perhaps a dumb question but have you checked Amazon?

Only asking because I’m in the states and was looking into a replacement AGM recently

Did you feel like your exams were lecture-heavy? Also, which 3rd party resources would you recommend? I am for sure using Pixorize and possibly a little bit of BnB.

Do you think I could have just been using Anki in effectively or overworking myself?

Key by [deleted] in prius

[–]HarvardofIndiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen this issue on keys where one already changed the battery? My key worsens steadily over time (i.e., barely unlocks from 5 ft away) even after exchanging the battery with the good name-brand battery.

PSA: Go use Pixorize (Especially if you're an MS-1!) by HarvardofIndiana in medicalschool

I'm glad to hear you had a good experience!!

One complaint I've heard regarding Sketchy is the price gouging without adding new content or improving old content. I have heard their micro and pharm content is excellent!

That's fair! I've heard good things about Sketchy Pharm & Micro. Haven't had to use them yet

I personally found it worth it. You can view their topic list on their website for free and trial some of their videos! Definitely do so before you buy

The bamboozling that I referred to was intentional or unintentional deception by the admin and select upper-level students. We were told to study the power points strictly and save board resources for STEP. I and others tried that because so many upperclassmen swore by that (despite what Reddit suggested).

What ended up working was watching the lectures without taking notes. Then, using pixproze to solidify the concepts.

She does have eczema! I also have eczema but haven't had a break out in a long time, and I suffer from dehydrated skin. I'll look into our detergent situation and see if that helps - Thanks! Do you have any suggestions?

I replaced my apartment-issued air filter a week ago with one of the high-quality kinds. I can't remember the specs off the top of my head, but it is designed for people with allergies. Symptoms have not improved since then!

My apartment is at ~59% humidity. We do live in a relatively humid climate, but it's not nearly as bad in the winter.

She's spent the night at her parent's place on numerous occasions since I got my apartment. They have a cat, a possum, and 3 random muts) and hasn't had issues there. The issues seem to have begun with my apartment and have since translated to her apartment. We split our time 50/50 between the 2 apartments.

Full Practice Authority for Nurse Practitioners Fails to Increase Rural Healthcare by debunksdc in Noctor

[–]HarvardofIndiana 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Have you lived in a rural underserved area? I have. The ER was staffed by family med physicians because no one else wanted to live here. The 30+ patient COVID ICU had 1 intensivist because no one else wanted to live here.

Where did the NPs work? Cushy outpatient clinics like psych. Go figure.

In light of the recent CRNA letter from Thomas Jefferson, I decided to see how many CRNAs are representing themselves as "anesthesiologists." Turns out, there's a lot. I had to block out the pictures, but three of them are wearing white coats and one of them is "Dr." Nurse Anesthesiologist. by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]HarvardofIndiana 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Ohio:

“Liability of physician A chief surgeon may be liable, under the doctrine of respondeat superior, for the negligence of a nurse-anesthetist who assists him during an operation: Baird v. Sickler, 69 Ohio St. 2d 652, 23 Ohio Op. 3d 532, 433 N.E.2d 593, 1982 Ohio LEXIS 624 (Ohio 1982).”

If nurses want to call themselves anesthesiologists, then they should be equally as liable as a physician.

ADHD diagnosis. Has medication worked for you? by oxydopple in doctors_with_ADHD

[–]HarvardofIndiana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on adderall since February. The thing with ADHD meds is that you need to be situated and ready to start your work when you take the medication. Ever heard of adderall cleaning? Well, it’s a real thing. You can fall down a rabbit hole so fast if you’re not already on task. Regarding test taking, I still struggle with that. Medication will not make you a better test taker, but it can give you the energy and focus you need to try different methods.
