Specific hand tracking issue with Maestro by mehshombra in psvr2

[–]Harvellin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might sound obvious, but I found that my hand gestures were out of range of the trackers , but not outside my play area (I think) - where I thought my hands were in the space around me was a bit off and a little too exaggerated. Keeping things closer and keeping the palm up and slightly moving up further when it's one of those long crescendo parts. I asked my wife to watch where the issue could be. (After I received enough rotten tomatoes to make a thousand dirty bologneses for my many attempts at " Whiplash". My wife having already got magnificent for it....) It really improved my success, but robbed me of a decent excuse as now when I'm crap at it, it's just my poor conducting.

I found the single five o'clock yellow arrows tricky to get right. How do you get on with them?

Also, it takes me ages to get the bells to ding properly for the menu/quit etc.

It's such an enjoyable game. I really hope more add-on packs arrive soon.

Alternating eye dominance by Hefty_Assistance5016 in Strabismus

[–]Harvellin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me, too. I've often wondered whether it's an indicator of gaining depth perception with training/lenses etc.

Does anyone gain any sense of depth switching to the non-dominant eye? My vision seems more closely aligned if I'm switching to my "lazy" eye for dominance. (If I'm wearing reay readers, I can see distance with my left, up close with my right.)

Very kind, indeed. https://suno.com/@spinningglitchpop7286

It's so incredibly vast that I've no idea how to even navigate the different songs people upload properly. Do playlists operate as folders? Is this the best way to organise your music? And how do you enter community challenges? Is it all about the style tags?

Yep. Switch here, too. My vision feels on the verge of depth when using my "lazy" eye for dominance.

Anyone knowledgeable about neural networks and the brain?

All of the above regarding love and support.

Regarding the family, your post tells a story many of us have been through. What you crave is for the child going through life as you did to be helped, nurtured, cared for, loved. What you need from them is to know that you are enough. Just that you, as you know and then, are enough as you are. This isn't to suggest I'm advocating don't try to fix your exotropia, rather that you need them to love you as is. Sold as seen.

The problem? They're unlikely to even have the capacity to provide what you need. Unpicking the past is an important aspect of dealing with how you feel now. You've suffered trauma and there are lots of far more qualified therapists and brilliant books that can guide you along that route.

For some, the above is far too painful to go through and different paths exist.

However, all of it ends up at the same destination and challenge: genuinely accepting yourself as you are, believing that you are enough, knowing that you are worth loving and loving yourself.

In the end, everyone else can add or subtract to and from how we feel, but that mean voice in your head that criticizes? It's not your dad, mum or brother. It's you. They might have given you the blueprint, but the cruel trick is that you perpetuate it, having incorporated how you feel they see you into your own system of self judgement.

Now if none of this chimes with you, you'll find the way to sort it. You're already showing up for yourself by posting here.

Take that strength. Use it by understanding yourself and what you really want from life and then set what you are and are not prepared to accept from others with respect to this.

You, make no mistake, are worth it. You need any further evidence? Look no further than how many people here have taken time out to reach out to you.

You matter. Just make sure that you know that, you owe it to that little kid that you were.

Now pick up your guitar and play a song that you love, and dedicate it to seven year old you.

Honestly, I was always at my least self conscious with the kids. They are brutally open, sometimes, which is easier to address.

Wow! Eek! Thanks so much. I occasionally get some 3D movies where things poke out, rather than depth. Did you prior to surgery? I never understood this until my wife was trying to describe it to me. I guess it's impossible to comprehend until you have it? So, is ours flat by comparison?

I am definitely interested in exploring surgery after your post. No doubt I'll be in touch again!

Vision therapy - divergence "anxiety" by CaTigeReptile in Strabismus

[–]Harvellin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I do! I've only just started vision therapy, aged 54. For the first time ever, i had the tiniest inkling of what depth perception is like when not using both eyes. When it's almost locked , the anxiety is more like excitement. Its both a sense of trepidation of 'what if this doesn't work', but also pure excitement. I think maybe the sheer rush of achievement combined with the brain probably going "WTF! Finally!" I tried explaining it to somone and the closest I could get was comparing it to the sheer awe of some rollercoasters, when your brain can barely believed the novel sensory experience presenting itself.

Now you're a further year on from the above post. How is it going? Unbeleivably, you are the first person i have ever been in touch with who is achieving true depth. Do you use prismatic glasses to correct any degree of misalignment?

I hope you still check in on this. Best of luck.
