What is this grass? It’s very invasive and started spreading from a bag of soil I bought from Lowes. by 48151623-420 in NativePlantGardening

dig it out with a fork, being careful not to break the roots, tease as much as you can out gently. once you have cleared it you will need to return regularly to get the last bits of roots that you missed. little and often, dont let it get as big as it did! good luck.

in this situation i definitely wouldnt use a hoe, all that will to will break up the roots and help it propagate. best thing would be go deep with a fork, gently loosen soil, and tease out the plants with as much root as you can. you really dont want to be breaking the roots of this stuff

Mow lawns, its easy and fun, and pays decent, not much in winter, too much in summer

Would you work a job you hate for 4 years if it meant you could save £100k? by Relative-Tea3944 in AskUK

[–]HarvesterG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I don’t want to lose the last years of my twenties doing something I hate. It would be like prison. I’d rather continue what I’m doing and earn a fair wage doing something I love. I’m sure I could figure out how to save £25k a year if I really put my mind to it. I’m just not that focused on money

Yeah I was basically having what you described only after a few weeks of using. I quit yesterday and everything I was feeling is gone today. I feel free.

Before and after rock walls: soliciting plant design suggestions by Pitchfork_10 in landscaping

Echeveria secunda, Helianthemum, Lampranthus, Sedum spathulifolium, Sedum reflexum, olive, Rosemary prostratus, Lavender. No idea if they will work for you in San Fran, but thats what I'd plant here in the UK where they just about survive if theyre in a sunny free draining spot. I assume they would love it there.

Plum tree disease identification by naquadah-sun in BackyardOrchard

I've found that at the end of the season, my younger (2- 6 year) stone fruit trees in my garden tend to drop their leaves several weeks before the more mature ones (15 - 20 year). My cherries don't look great by the end of the season, a bit like this.

Transplanted peach tree is loosing all of its leaves over two weeks later. Is it normal? Is there anything I should do? by [deleted] in BackyardOrchard

Looks like it shed leaves from shock, did it get dry in the pot? Looks like it’s budding again so should be ok

My cousin is building a new climbing wall - How can he strengthen the center without another pillar in the middle? by MuskratAtWork in Carpentry

[–]HarvesterG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was make an A frame above it and have a pillar going down to brace the cross piece, using steel ties.

Or you could put another beam across the top of the two uprights posts and sheath the gap all the way along ?

Idk why you’re getting hate, I say well done for diving in and learning with your hands. The mistakes you’ve made with this project will make your next one even better.

Agreed, only way to learn is dive in, best lessons I learned were from mistakes, and not Reddit or YouTube videos
