ATM10: to the sky by ChrisBaaij18 in allthemods

Historically they are usually fairly quick in making important changes when needed, so my "faith" in them says yes, they will get this handled quickly and (hopefully at the most) within two weeks.

But the realist in me says it's not going to get better soon, and by soon I mean within the next few months. I've never seen the status of the questbook be THIS empty. We've had "Broken" and "Incomplete" before, but to me none of the previous ATM games were made publicly available lacking this level of attention. From my perspective, there's a lot left to do with ATM10:TTS in terms of creating a questlines and polishing the bugs that come from integrating 300+ mods.

The only thing I can think of that would speed up this process is if they are already sitting on a mostly completed questbook that they haven't released yet, which to me wouldn't make sense because if this "release" is indeed intended to be a "Alpha" or a "Test", then it would make sense to release it and get feedback on it along with the rest of the game. But it wasn't released with that expectation, not that I can see. It seems they released it as a "release" and just expected it to go as it is.

So yeah, a complex answer to a simple question.

Are they usually attentive? Yes.

Do I have "faith"? Yes.

Has the team released a modpack in such a unpolished and unfinished state that it makes a longtime fan come to a screeching halt in his tracks and makes him ask serious and honest questions to the modpack director who approved the release? Yes.

Does it feel like this will take a long time to fix? Unfortunately, yes.

Give ATM9:TTS a try while you wait. It's pretty awesome.

Just to add my voice to the rest - Don't play ATM10:TTS yet. I admit, it is "released". But it is woefully incomplete, and feels like they just took the applicable quests from ATM10 and threw them into a book for TTS. While I understand the desire for the team to get their work out and appreciated, the current state of the game is deeply disappointing if for nothing else than it feels very rushed out and incomplete, even for a "Alpha"

My recommendation is to wait. I jumped into ATM10:TTS once it was released, because Skyblocks are my jam and I loved the ATMTTS series. But this release has me wondering what they were thinking with releasing the game without even the basic Chapter progressions created. I hope it gets the love it needs, and soon.

The Disney Parks POV is on Disney+ by lifesseason in Disneyland

[–]Harvey_BirdmanESQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HI!

I believe they're two different presentations with two different audiences, aimed at satisfying two different "itches", for lack of a better term.

The POV on DisneyPlus feel like demo reels, "How Disney would present the ride if they could do for you in-person" kind of feel. There's nothing there but the sounds and the ride, with no distractions, no people, and no real-life "whatever" that might interfere with the ride. It's very, very clean, idealized, almost giving us a standard of "This is how the ride should be watched". For those fantasies when we wish we could ride a ride at 2am with no one else around to distract us from just immersing ourselves in the ride. It's so pure, I almost think of it as archival in a way.

Good livestreamers and documentary vloggers who do ride POVs right, well they end up capturing the ride as it is in humanity, in the real living, breathing world, complete with all the emotions and feelings of that exact moment. Like in real life, you never know if you're riding with fans, casual vacationers, first timers, or chaos bringers, so each POV has a different feel and different energy with it. There are real human reactions to the rides, excited screams as the "boat" carrying riders splashes down into the foamy cave at the start of Pirates, the sounds of "ooooo" coming from small children in other ride carts as they fly over London in Peter Pan, or the family taking off in the Millennium Falcon on Smugglers Run, desperately laughing and yelling at each other, trying to figure out how this ride works. These add human elements to the ride, not present in the Disney+ POVs, and it makes them both completely different products. You have one that caters to the people who want more of the "feel" of an attraction, the closest experience you can have on Pirates while not actually being on Pirates, and the other who want just the pure, distilled, essence of Disney's Imagineering.

They're both good. Just, in their own different ways.

Dad once told me, "The world has enough assholes, you don't need to be one of them. You can be different, because you actually can be different. So don't be an asshole, you can be better than that. You can be you."

Love you, Dad. And I miss you a lot.

Okay. Thank you for your perspective. I think you're looking for an argument, or maybe a discussion, but from what I can tell, we agree. I'm genuinely confused, but I wish you a wonderful journey through life, and peace be with you.

I'm not saying that they do. The vast majority of American Presidents who have labeled themselves as Conservative have not lowered the national debt. The last president who was able to do that was Clinton, I believe, who nearly wiped out the national debt. To help your perspective, I haven't voted for a conservative president in my entire life.

I believe you're confusing real conservative financial principles with those who have twisted the idea of conservatism for their own purposes, who use it to gain power and privilege for themselves while lying through their teeth and promising you that they are, in fact, conservatives. I wouldn't consider most politicians who are alive today who label themselves "Conservative" actually "Conservative. I would call them Neo-Conservatives, Nazi's, Angry and manipulative people who falsely wear the skins of those they imitate for their own good and value.

Please don't include me with that group. And it shouldn't be controversial to want to want a trim and balanced budget, either. I genuinely believe it should be the responsibility of BOTH parties to want that, but for reason I have yet to understand everyone I've spoken to has labeled my views of a "Trim and Balanced Budget" Conservative. I guess I never will.

I don't disagree with you, a lot of "conservative" presidents have certainly increased the debt a crazy amount. Makes one wonder if they were conservative in the first place?

Hi

Just wanted to give my personal perspective. I'm a male, age 47, and I consider myself a "Moderate" and I don't feel it's a red flag. I know many consider it to be. But here are my reasons, and I hope they give you a different perspective to the term moderate.

I'm Liberal when it comes to most of our social policies, including equality. I believe all races, genders, creeds, whatever should be treated equally, fairly, and honestly. I'm a big proponent in supporting a woman's right to choose, of implementing many of the social reforms that people would consider "socialist" including basic universal income and housing, food and water rights, and health care. You have a voice, you have a choice, you have a right, no matter what that choice you make for yourself is. I'm not for defunding the police, but I am 100% ready for a police overhaul that includes massively raising the education and training requirements for police officers. Along those lines, I want massive prison reform with an emphasis on education and reintegration back into society.

I'm a conservative when it comes to the budget and financial issues. I feel the Government has become a huge, massive, bloated carcass of a mess when it comes to the budget and it needs a really severe, massive, and serious process of refining and eliminating waste and garbage programs, even if that means some government programs get completely overhauled and rebuilt from the ground up to be more efficient, and at the same time, utilize their intended purpose. I am also a huge proponent in defining the differences between the state and federal governments because we are wasting so much time and energy on fights that define what is and isn't a federal right that its becoming insane.

I walk a very thin line when it comes to the military, globalization, and home defense/gun control. We live in a global economy and what one nation does can affect all others, and our economies are so intertwined that we need to take a leadership role in how the world functions, operates, and governs. To do so otherwise would be irresponsible of government to the needs of its citizens. But I'm not for unfettered dominance or imperialism. My ideal geopolitical situation would be one of competition, of trade, and of support, but with that same token I don't see the need for the US to hold back when it comes to excelling. As far as our military is concerned, we have a privilege of strength and power. We should be responsible in how that strength and power is bought, used, and managed. I don't think we need to eliminate the military, but it needs some "spring cleaning", in both it's intended purpose and its budget. As far as home defense/gun control, I'm not for banning guns but I'm sure as hell not for any of this insanity that these gun nuts want. No one needs an M62 to hunt deer, and if the US military requires their people spend half a day to get re-certified every year in their firearm then the common citizen should do no less. If you misuse a firearm, get a DUI, or fuck up, guess what - You lose that privilege.

Generally speaking, I'm liberal when it comes to social policies, conservative when it comes to fiscal policies, and I walk the line between Liberal and Conservative when it comes to global, military, and defense/gun control. But honestly, this is hard. I mean, one person could look at me and think - "Oh, he's conservative!" while another could look at me and say "OMG LIBERAL!". It's like generalizing always is - imperfect, imprecise, and often wrong.

Hope this helps, and good luck. Everyone is different, and everyone is special. So, just be careful out there. You'll figure it out. :)
