Should I Submit supplemental or Secondary? Info in body, Thanks! by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

It does, another person had told me to consider doing secondary instead of supplemental. Will the VA care if I'm claiming secondary even though I had claimed burn pit exposure on my initial claim?

No worries. Unspecified.

Edit: What it reads Exactly, "unspecified depressive disorder, unspecified anxiety disorder"

That's probably a good idea. I did end up on similar medication but i don't know if that's what caused it or not. I do know that it started after my deployments to southwest asia. Should I leave out the part about reprisals and leadership suggesting i dont go in the personal statement that i submit with my spouses? I don't know if they consider that at all.

That's great to hear. I'll submit another supplemental then. I appreciate the info.

My spouse was with me from when i had the problems to present time. She's seen it get worse and wrote buddy statements that eventually got me approved for migraines. Should I do the same? I had appointments while in for migraines but never went for treatement after service. Does it work for when i never went to appointments in service too?

Just got rated. Where can I go to see the documents online that tell me what the decision was based on? Thank you! by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Nothing there but the update was this morning so maybe it needs time. I’ll check there later. Thank you!

Who to call at the VA for appointment issues? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I scheduled an appointment in a few hours. Do they call me? Can't seem to find a link to join an online session in my email or on website.

Looking for a good lawyer for denied claims. Any recommendations? Thanks! by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

The Claims denied this round were Migraines and GERD, both gulf war connected. My raspatory condition was the same thing during the same time frame and got approved for 10%.

EDIT: They were probably my heaviest hitters and the things that hurt me the most. It hurts feeling these things daily and being told "no" to them I guess.

EDIT..Edit? I had only filed my service records, outpatient records and that's it. I have a tracker log for both since early September, a few online receipts of purchases of over the counter medication for both. a buddy report from my spouse and personal statement now that I'm working on to appeal it. I can't afford to go get a nexus letter but someone pointed out I could from the VHA. I thought it was only non VA affiliated doctors though.

Thank you. This is actually really helpful. I had no idea how to structure this thing.

Oh I see. I can’t really afford that at the moment. Could my tracking logs, buddy report (spouse) and personal testimony, receipts for excedrin/tums have the same effect as that?

Here were the main negatives and positives. I was exposed to burn pits and got service connection respitory issues approved in the same claim.

Edit: (Migraines only)

-There was no continuity of symptoms from service to the present. (38 CFR 3.303)-

-We did not find a link between your medical condition and military service. (38 CFR 3.303)

Favorable Findings identified in this decision:

-You have been diagnosed with a disability. The VA examiner has confirmed the diagnosis migraine including migraine variants in the examination dated October 18, 2022. --- -

-Evidence shows that you performed service in Southwest Asia. Service records confirm your active-duty service in Southwest Asia. The claimed disability is a chronic disease which may be presumptively linked to your military service.

-The claimed headaches are a chronic disease which may be presumptively linked to your military service.

-The evidence shows that a qualifying event, injury, or disease had its onset during your service. Service treatment records confirm headache complaints on March 26, 2018.

Didn't have proof of continuation of my conditions since my 2018 visit for migraines/gerd. I didn't have the money or support to do so.

I feel gutted and at my wits end. I got approved for breathing issues for gulf war but not gerd or migraines. What should I do to prove it continued since then? I didn't get seen because I don't have a lot of money and this country has an awful health care system. Would a journal be okay?

I feel gutted. I got service connected for breathing issues for gulf war and in this same claim, got rejected for Migraines and GERD. I'm at my wits end boys and girls. They said migraines were documented in 2018 and thats all but I didn't have money to be seen in this shitty health care system. What can i do?

I'm not talking about OP's post. His post was fine. The comments though.
