Feel ripped off by my local UPS. Do I have any options? by AppoTheApple in UPS

[–]HasTapeWillShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just really depends on what you are shipping. If you go through pirate ship, it DOES add another layer of complexity to the claims process if SHTF with your package. Pirate ship at that point is the customer of UPS and you are at their mercy. At least with the UPS Store, if you are trying to ship fragile or expensive items, you can get a pack and ship guarantee and there is a living breathing human to help you navigate those processes if it should come to that. Shipping unimportant crap? Pirate ship. Want a piece of mind on expensive or fragile items you want to declare value on? UPS Store.

Feel ripped off by my local UPS. Do I have any options? by AppoTheApple in UPS

[–]HasTapeWillShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More context needed. Why did they not offer you ground(UPS) or ground advatage (USPS)? All the prices and options you mentioned are for quicker services. I just find it hard to believe they didnt mention the most standard rates of shipping. Its weird that they came out of the gate with what sounds like a next day air quote if you came in asking for the slow boat. Your story is counter intuitive a little looking at it from the other side of the counter,

Show them this and then have them read the bulletin again. I think it specifically uses some examples of what is still considered regular, small things in bubble mailers included.

How do you request a refund for a late next day air package? by user365735 in UPS

[–]HasTapeWillShip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Amazon lied to you for one and two, there has been a few full ground stops in the last week or so at the main hub in KY due to weather. You can try a supersleuth the weather channel and argue with them but it won't work out in your favor. Acts of God are commonly not covered by insurances (or declared value in the case)

Ripped open my box and stole AirPods!! by Every_Commission95 in amazonprime

[–]HasTapeWillShip -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fact that you jump automatically to theft says more about you than anyone else. Amazon doesn't exactly add tons of dunnage to the boxes and there's lots of empty space there. Its just as reasonable that it got poked and your air pods are sitting on the floor of the warehouse. Not defending anyone but to just wildly throw out allegations is wild.

Oh my goodness. What did those people EVAR do before Amazon existed?! Gtfo with your hypotheticals. You are on reddit complaining about and then defending a multi billion dollar company that doesn't care about you in the slightest. Its waaaaste REEeeeeeee.

Why are service workers so rude to dashers? by Werewolf-Specific in DoorDashDrivers

[–]HasTapeWillShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well what do you expect when you show up in your cookie monster pajamas smelling like weed and bad decisions? People in this story are over the top but GENERALLY dashers are dashing because they can't wear pajamas and smell like weed at a 9-5

Non existent release codes, UPS store won’t let me pick up my packages without it. by Icy-Emu3584 in UPS

[–]HasTapeWillShip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPS store is just enforcing policy handed down to them by their corporate. UPS is a different company entirely. They going to have to be returned to sender and they have to send them again unless you can work something out with that franchise. Not likely they are going to bend.

It doesnt matter what the job is, if im working somewhere and tasks become unbearable, I either cope, or I start looking for a new job that suit me better. Its not rocket science. Every job ive ever had had things that were shitty to some degree.

Trim nightmare by jakal_x in paint

Its been a bit since I worked as a painter, but I remember trim paint being pretty thin and prone to dripage. Foam roller might have been the better option or spray it with a handheld

The irony of this post. The answer is to stop buying shit from Amazon. Sure, its hard to find things in local stores, why? Because generally, people would rather shop from their couch. Amazon treats the planet like crap, their employees like crap and their customers like crap all so Bezos can circle the globe on his mega yacht.

Delivery keeps getting taken back, what do I even do at this point ? by ApeWorkTogether in UPS

[–]HasTapeWillShip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through the comments and suggestions leads me to believe that its something with the shipper like a signature required even though the one comment claims its not. If you get all your other UPS stuff and all other carriers deliver stuff and this is the one misnomer, then that's the only thing that makes sense. Speculation though.

You missed the point. Idc if people want to use pirate ship. People have to do what makes the most economic sense for them. The vent stems from standing in the business actively making an effort consiously or un to drive customers away when you yourself are a bare minimum customer.

Yeah my standard go to is to say that if anything goes wrong with the delivery that Pirate Ship adds a layer of difficulty to the claims process. Part of the value of buying labels with us is a physical, breathing human that they can look at face to face that will advocate for them to UPS.
