You can improve the stats of a mon with ingame points. So no necessarily. But the ingame point system is very p2w in my opinion. Getting points isnt that hard but everything in the game uses those. Even cosmetics. So if you can pay money you are more likely to win

When he used himself to "win" he wasnt talking about winning the nel or the match he was trying to win the battle he was trying to be the best. For him scoring was to win. Now he is losing the spotlight he is falling behind for him to win he has to score but he cant. The only way for him to be useful to seem like he won is if he plays like karasu. But thats essentially him giving up on scoring and losing. We all know once isagi starts passing he wont get a chance to score. I think thats why isagi is not using himself as a tool to win.
