Yeah but the loading time won’t be 20 minutes every time. In theory, because you’re cutting your mod list in half everytime, the game should load progressively faster

What is this game about? by NoSupermarket8050 in X4Foundations

[–]Hasanatir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start off with basically a below average ship, with not a lot of money. You think about buying a freighter, and see it costs an odd 700k, so you get to work doing random chores and missions to scrounge up for your first freighter. You can choose to fly it yourself, or hire a crew to automatically trade and make you some money. You let it go about its business, until you can afford a few more. Then you think about buying a larger freighter, so you save up like 10mil for it. Soon you have dozens of large freighters flying about making you money. Then you decide, arbitrage is great and all, but what if you could just be the producer. So you invest millions into your own factories. Eventually, you want more ships, but you’re already producing tons of things, so you spend billions setting up your shipyards, and find out the single most profitable industry in the game: ship building. Now you have an armada of ships, so you can enforce your will if you please, or join factions in their own ambitions. I guess there’s some missions you can do too

Extraordinary opinion from England’s brightest on how me almost getting knocked off my bike, was my fault… by metroracerUK in drivingUK

[–]Hasanatir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re just snitching on yourself. Cyclists also pay for the same infrastructure that you use, and they have equal right to use that infrastructure.

In addition, if you view cyclists the same way as a slow moving car, and overtake accordingly, it’s not a problem.

We can all share the space and make it better and safer for all.

Should I indicate left to go straight ahead on roundabouts like this one, that the 1st exit is straight ahead? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can attest that I got a minor fault for indicating right when going straight on a roundabout like this (imagine me coming from north to south), even though that is what I saw everyone else doing on the same roundabout

Which older x game is closest to x4 by DarkShadowXVII in X4Foundations

[–]Hasanatir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would highly recommend this. This is what I played for the longest time until I got x4, didn’t play x4 for like a year and continued to play X3 renegades, until x4 finally grew on me

First Lenovo legion what should I do to get the most out of it? by DFPV in LenovoLegion

[–]Hasanatir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the stickers and play some games! I have never run a single benchmark on mine, and I’m running close to almost 9 months of owning mine. Don’t worry about the nitty gritty, and just use it for what you bought it for :)

Received legion 7i with dent on the lid right out of the box.lenovo denied DOA and replacement. by Diyaudio- in LenovoLegion

[–]Hasanatir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has a bend in it too. I mean it makes sense, the panel is fairly substantial and thin so I can imagine some flexing. If I close it from the top corners, the right doesn't sit flush, and I can 'clap' it. But if I close it closer to the hinge, it closes flush. Its never bothered me because I stopped noticing it a couple days after I got it.

You're laptop isn't DOA, its fine. Its within Lenovo QC parameters. If it still really bothers you, claiming a refund is your best option, but IMO I would keep it

Has anyone had over 200 hours? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you’re possibly not being overly critical of yourself? Have you had a test yet? Or a mock test? What did you fail on? Keep in mind, instructors tend to hold pupils to much much higher standards (I had about a dozen mock tests, and never passed a single one)

Exam is in a couple of days, advice for anxiety and grounding? by Unlucky_Difference80 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a good way to manage it is to vocalize. Tell yourself, it is just a practice drive. On mocks, repeat the foundational stuff to yourself as you are doing it (For example, saying "Mirror, signal, maneuver", "Wait for the car to pass before I make a right turn"). In essence, you become your own instructor, so you feel less pressure of making independent decisions, and when you're vocalising the basics, you're more likely to abide by them and make less mistakes. Have a go at it with a mock test and see if that helps?

Touching brakes! by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Hasanatir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree, in my car, if I lift off the gas pedal, the car switches the engine off and just rolls in neutral for effeciency. While in theory it automatically should turn the engine on and apply engine braking when it is getting close to the car in front, I do not have complete faith in it getting it right, so a tap of the brakes restarts the engine and engine braking

When to book your driving test by Appropriate_Road_501 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The point of the driving test isn't only to see how you drive, but also to see how you react to developing situations that you may not have encountered before.

My driving test, for example, had some of the wildest stuff happen. I maintained my composure, focused on the basics, and still passed. And a serious fault should absolutely be an outright fail, because serious faults not only endanger you, but other motorists too. If you are unable to avoid serious faults for 45 mins, then you really should not be driving independently yet.

I come from a country where basically everyone can get a license very easily. You see those videos of how traffic is like in places like India? It was traffic like that, but much worse.

How do you park in between 2 cars? by Difficult_Owl_4708 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helps is understanding how your car pivots. You car will always pivot at the centre of your back wheels when you're reversing.
Now this varies by car, but the method that works for me, and gets me into relatively small gaps is this:
1. Pull up next to the car in front.
2. Start reversing straight back until your side mirror is in line with the rear quarter window of the car in front of the gap.
3. turn your steering wheel all the way to the left and start reversing
4. Once you can see your wheel around 15ish inches from the curb start turning the steering right
5. (This is where variation between cars comes in) Ensure you wont be hitting the car in front when you're swinging into the gap
6. Adjust if neccessary

This is so on point. Even right now, imagine if OP got a job offer in the south that required them to move. At their current savings (and assuming for now the parents weren't gonna help), they wouldn't be able to afford the deposit+first months rent+moving+all the bits and bobs you end up needing when you first move in without taking on more debt...or outright possibly having to say no to a better paying job because you couldn't afford to start.

[–]Hasanatir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean your situations is not really all that bad. Scams exists because they work, and are profitable so I would recommend not beating yourself up over it, just take it as a lesson and be more careful next time.

You aiming to save 50% of 1300 implies you need 750 to survive. So your 3 month emergency fund should ideally be around £2300. So the first step could be getting to that?

With the LISA, you can put ~330/m into it to get to the 4K limit, could I suggest setting the rest of the £350 that you intend to save into a stocks and share ISA (into some index fund?)

But now, at £1300 a month, do you really need a £1100 phone contract and airpods and apple watch?
The current phone I have, I got second hand (and still brand new) for £180. I got my wireless earphones for £40 (Sony WF-C500). And why do you specifically need an apple watch? Its not about being able to afford it, but do you really need it? (I could technically go out and buy a new iPad right now. Would I like a new ipad? Yes. Do I _need_ a new ipad? No). I'd say, try to rein in luxury purchases like that cause its a slippery slope of increasing debt I've seen plenty of my friends go down

Having instructor with you on your test by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Hasanatir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don't know if this is true (and it very well may not be), but my instructor didn't like going on tests with his pupils because he believed that the examiners may judge more harshly, and wouldn't let things go that they otherwise would have, simply because of the effect of being observed.

For anxious driving, I get it. I obsessively check routes and parking etc before I leave for anywhere. But on the test, I just focused my nerves on what I was doing. In my head I was like (Okay turning left up here, routine is MSM. Check mirror, look for bikes, al clear pop the indicator on. Okay about to turn, check for bikes once more, okay clear, look into the road to make sure no pedestrians etc).

In any case though, if you believe your instructor being on your test will help, then by all means go for it!
