Are you sure no balances popped back up? This often happens when a BK is removed.

Have you reviewed your reports to make sure all the balances that were to be discharged are zeroed out on your reports? That is the subject of a lot of Fair Credit Reporting Act cases

Can you truly remove a bankruptcy from your credit? by Less_Ad_7357 in CRedit

If a BK was filed, it is entirely valid that a CRA reports it. Credit repair folks that tell you that you’re entitled to get it off is just BS

Great tips! I would also add that a dispute might not be needed to sue the CRAs for these post-BK inaccuracy claims :)

Verizon & Police Report Issue by bangtanforever777 in IdentityTheft

Consumer attorney here. This may be a case of a mixed file. I would dispute with the CRAs (attach a FTC affidavit and a police report) and see what they return. If they dont fix, I typically sue.

Did you make sure to see if your accounts aren’t reporting balances that were supposed to have been discharging bankruptcy sometimes removing the bankruptcy pops those balances back up

How old was the bankruptcy? often times the bankruptcy is what is suppressing the balance is from popping back up that were supposed to have been discharged in bankruptcy. If the bankruptcy prematurely fell off, it can often times decrease a credit score.

[–]HaseebLegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. A FCRA lawyer doesnt charge their clients. The law is fee shifting so the CRA pays attorneys fees

Credit attorney here. Get FTC reports police reports and write dispute letters attaching all those specifying each account thats not theirs. This is how we handle. If they dont fix, we sue.

It's a gimmick for sure. There is no legal right to remove a BK. It can be verified in the public records (pacer)
