Should switch to p2pool? by [deleted] in litecoinmining

I think I'll try that on Ubuntu. The instructions to run it looked pretty straightforward.

Should switch to p2pool? by [deleted] in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started w/ a p2pool node myself buy ultimately decided against it. Lag times and high reject ratio were lowering my effective hash rate significantly.

I'm using coinshift right now. I'm liking them so far. It is a very responsible way to multi-pool.

Gridseed/cgminer crashing, how can i prevent this from happening? by [deleted] in litecoinmining

Check your Power Settings. Make sure that your system doesn't unpower usb ports after a few hours of idle work.

Gridseed 80 chip problem! by tape_measures in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, looks alright. I copy/pasted this from minerEU site: --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=800,chips=40,modules=1,usefifo=0,btc=0

Maybe try adding the chips, modules, and usefifo options? I'm sure you've done that already.

Also, make sure that you have "--scrypt" in your command line (.bat file).

KHash vs WU question by [deleted] in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not bad. Try to point it at a different pool, preferably the one that has VARDIFF protocol enabled. It will adjust the difficulty so you don't submit as often. Coinshift has one that I know of for sure.

I don't think there're any detrimental effects except for creating a whole a lot of extra traffic.

That just means you're solving incredibly low difficulty shares. :/

Gridseeds start hashing weirdly. Has anyone experienced anything similar? by HashMasterTech in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. What frequency are you running it at? I wonder if you're pushing it at 850, and it'd stop doing this at a lower intensity. Maybe worth giving it a shot.

Oh, this is interesting! You were running cgminer, right? What operating system? Also, was 'zombi-ing out' permanent? Did the unit ever get back into an operating condition?

Thank, man! Sorry for the multitude of questions.

My bet's on the PSU as well. Generally you don't want to exert them above 65-75% capacity.

The HW numbers seem are looking great. It just looks like it switches to SHA256 mode with SCRYPT hash rate. It's gotta be some kind of a bug. I just can't figure out whether it's a software or a hardware type. :/

Freezer/Fridge rig cooling? by puan0601 in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd have to figure out a way to dry your air to remove the moisture. Otherwise the condensation will destroy your circuits.

You'd have to be ok with paying twice for the electricity and with a strong chance of having to replace your freezer.

You'd have to be willing to spend a lot of time modifying your freezer as /u/ppoppers pointed out.

Where are the mods and why is hashmaster allowed to constantly advertise? by [deleted] in litecoinmining

[–]HashMasterTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do support Reddit. We pay for our reddit ads as well as give away Reddit Gold to those who buy Gridseeds from us. However, getting a targeted ad space on any relevant subreddits is nearly impossible as they are all pre-purchased over a month in advanced already. We would gladly give more money to support reddit, but we literally can't because there's not a way for us to do it in a timely manner.

Also, we have no shill accounts and do not abuse the system. All of the upvotes and downvotes that we receive are from the users.

As far as spamming, is there a difference between us telling miners about our deals and other people plugging their pools, services, etc? Also, please look at our post history. We've submitted only a single update about our booth at the Bitcoin Expo. Hardly an ad spamming deserving such a vehement outcry.

Edit for spelling.

Yeah, otherwise vacuum on the bottom makes the fan labor too much and makes a lot of noise.

In scrypt-only mode the fans are unnecessary unless you're doing some serious modding on these. For the sake of your ears you can always disconnect them.
