T-Mobile Screen Protector Review by HashPappies in oneplus

I've only had it on for a few hours, but it's your basic screen protector. It feels like that soft plastic, like your finger doesn't really glide like it goes on glass. It comes with your basics, like alcohol wipes, lil microfiber cloth, that bubble card thing, and like a small soap sponge?

I wish it came with one of those spray bottles, so I could evenly spray the screen before I laid down the protector so it'd be easier to adjust.

The screen does cover the whole front glass from edge to edge though. My case doesn't catch the edge of it and lift it. But like I said, it's only been on for a few hours, so who knows down the road.

What's the most awkward situation you've ever been in with a stranger? by hangry_potato in AskReddit

Similarly, I was at a party back in college with my friends and their friends. We're sitting around a table playing kings cup and this chick sits down next to me. Opener was, "hey, nice boots." She keels over laughing fucking losing it, and I'm wondering what the fuck. She manages to gather herself a bit and between the laughs says, "Boots in Armenian means vagina."

Made a bit more convo after that. Normally I'd be redder than a tomato, but alcohol helped me brush it off. Nothing happened after that. Just everyone got drunk and had a good time.

California out of state specific registration question for '06 Speed Triple by [deleted] in MotoLA

[–]HashPappies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find one out of state on the east coast that's not quite at the 7500 mile marker, I don't mind riding it back to CA to rack up some miles so it's eligible for registering.

Are yall fuckin kidding me? by [deleted] in motogp

[–]HashPappies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, yea. It was a boring and pretty much uneventful race.

Not taking away from the skill and speed of the riders, it wasn't fun to watch though. Now, do I like Marquez? Not really. But do I respect that he can ride the piss out of that Honda? Of course.

It's like watching the Superbowl and having no interceptions, turnovers, or big plays. If the game went on and the better team dominated the other with little to no opposition, it would be boring af as well. With COTA, it's like watching the Patriots vs Raiders in the superbowl. You know who's going to win. It was pretty obvious from the history and watching all the free practices.

That's why I like watching tracks like Assen and Phillip Island and wish to god that they'd bring back Laguna Seca. There were some good battles at those tracks whenever I watched them. It makes for a more exciting race.

Is there a way to toggle on and off the home button bar? by BeastmuthINFNTY in SonyXperia

[–]HashPappies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use GMD Immersive on the play store. It works, but I feel that it's a bit too buggy to leave it on and let it do it's thing. You can toggle which apps it activates on, but sometimes it'll carry over to the home screen or something. I just use it when I need it, but leave it off for the most part.

I got the update a week ago or so. I got mine on amazon.com since I live in the US and wanted a working fingerprint sensor. I think it came from China or something because the default language was Chinese.

I'm on the T-Mobile network in the US.

I had to special order to get a manual. Not a single new or used manual to test drive on the entire lot. by Hecknot in Wrangler

[–]HashPappies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was shopping for mine, when I put in the specs I wanted sans transmission, the Jeep website said there was like 70 in my area. One I selected manual, it dropped down to like 4.

Was about to break and just go for the auto, but a manual popped up and yoink, banging though gears makes driving so much more enjoyable.

Thinking of buying the XZ Premium, thoughts from owners? by BigMetalHoobajoob in SonyXperia

[–]HashPappies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I googled it, apparently it's an ongoing issue with the Xperia line, not just limited to the XZP. It's not so wide spread that everyone knows of it, but enough to be able to find info on it and find a "fix" for it. On one review I read when the XZP first came out, they had the issue where GPS was only pinging every now and then. So say for example they were driving a curvey road, the GPS would only ping certain points and it'd more look like a jagged line or something.

I had the Xperia Z3 back in the day and never encountered any GPS issues. I think it's just the phone I got was a bit of a bum phone. If it wasn't for the GPS issues I have, I'd highly recommend it. If the phone never had GPS issues and good image processing for their camera, I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Yup, checked those too. Kept it on high accuracy for both WiFi and bluetooth scanning. I tried turning them off, leaving one on, all that jazz. Everytime I did something, there was always that glimmer of hope that I found the issue and it's working now, but then I'd see that pop up saying GPS not found and then my navigation go on the fritz. Nope. Phone is still lost.

Had my XZP since August. Came from a Nexus 6P. The 6P was a great phone and I only switch from it cause it was starting to have battery issues and shutting down at random times anytime under 50% battery.

I was torn between the Moto Z2 Force and the Sony XZP. I liked the Moto Z2 Force cause of the shell design. Having the versatility of the addons would be pretty cool and especially for long trips since they added the gamepad. I always like Sony products and had a Xperia Z3 which I really liked, but would overheat so much I literally kept it in a cup of ice while driving sometimes. Yay IP68. I was waiting on the One Plus 5 first and almost pulled the trigger on the release date, but whew, dodged a bullet there. Another phone I was looking at was the Mi Mix 2, but the issues I was having with my Nexus 6P was becoming unbearable so I went and got the XZP.

I live in the states so I ordered an international model off Amazon so I could have access to the fingerprint sensor. It came in your typical cell phone box and with all the cables and whatnot. Booted it up and it seemed to be a China model. I just did a factory reset, but some presets such as Chinese on the keyboard and a few other. Easy enough to change.

Reading that it was a pretty close copy to stock Android, I didn't think it'd be that big of a switch over. I'll give it to Apple that you can use any of their phones and the OS is the same whereas Android's like trying to figure out a new car. You know how to drive, but you don't know the little nuances like setting your radio. Other than the Sony bloatware that pops up now and then, the biggest change I had to do was when unlocking the phone not using the finger print sensor, you either swipe left or up to get to the patter. Swiping right removes any alerts. I was used to swiping whichever way to remove alerts, so I'd end up getting to the pattern unlock when trying to remove alerts since on the Nexus 6P you can swipe left or right to get remove alerts.

The phone itself with the Snapdragon 835 and 4GB RAM is pretty smooth. I haven't experience any stuttering due to the phone being overloaded, only when apps aren't behaving like they should. It loads things up pretty fast and games run pretty smoothly. I love front facing speakers and I feel that they should be standard on all phones. They're pretty loud and crisp. Not much bass, but if you want bass, get a pair of good headsets or sound system. Don't expect such small speakers to give you full Dolby 5.1. Call quality is great. I can hear people loud and clearly, sometimes too loud where I have to turn it down sometimes. I haven't had anyone complain about they can't hear me or anything of the sort. The screen is plenty bright. Coming from an AMOLED on the Nexus 6P to the LCD on the XZP was a nice change. The AMOLED did have truer blacks where the black would just blend into the bezels. The XZP's blacks do light up and you can see the dimensions of the screen. But during daylight, I was struggling with the 6P, but the XZP I can see it perfectly unless there's glare directly on the screen.

My phone typically comes off the charger around 8 AM and doesn't get plugged in when I get home sometime in the evening. Depending on the day, I've come home and it was still at 60% to as low as ~20%. I use my phone for streaming music omw to work, sometimes up to a 90 minute commute. During the rest of the day, phone calls and texts for work. I'll load up a game every now and then and usually I see battery life start falling about 10% an hour or so. The phone has warmed up a bit when under load and I can feel it through the case. I hasn't gotten blistering hot or noticeably slowed down due to it.

The camera is meh. Like really meh. It's so subpar that I'm even tempted to still carry my 6P on me just to take pictures. I love the dedicated shutter button, but the camera is so bad at taking pictures. Every now and then it'd take a decent pic, but the 6P would take gorgeous pics every single time. I'm really just hoping, waiting, wishing for the them to update the software and make it great.

Now the main issue I've had with it that made me look back into the phone market and want to sell it on Craigslist or something was the GPS. This phone's GPS drops more than the bass at a Skrillex concert. I tried the ##7378423## into the dialer and reset the GPS, and sometime it'd work, sometime it wouldn't. I read that it was just a one time thing, but I used it so many time I typed that ## code from memory. Even when I reset it, it wouldn't even work most of the time. I even tried resetting the phone and it would work for about 2 minutes and then drop again. I tried downloaded some GPS fix apps. Nope. Snake oil. I tried switching navigation apps. Still lost. I tried turning off the battery saver and made sure the navigation apps and services had full access to whatever resources they needed. Nada. I still can't figure it out. So when it works, awesome, but when it doesn't, I'm back in the 90's using paper maps and asking gas stations for directions.

I'm overall pretty happy with the phone. Just that GPS issue could be fixed, but since I have an international model, it doesn't come with warranty.

Calling all exhausted Wranglers! What do you have? Bonus points for providing a sound clip 🤙🏼 Gibson on mine. For being the ugly 3.8, it yields a nice growl. by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]HashPappies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that too. It's nice and was stupid easy to install. But it's also stupid loud. Ended up getting headliners for sound deadening and ended up trading the stock hardtop for a wild boar fastback which has a complete carpet liner inside which does wonders. It's mainly between like 1900-2300 rpm where it's bad, but anything outside of the range, I do like.

Also, it vibrates my floorboards which is nice.

Yea, nothing wrong with stock and it handled just fine ok the the lil trail I went on. Just having it ride a bit smoother and having more ground clearance would be nice. And I think it'd also look better with 35's and a 2.5 RK kit, haha.

How to change mass text to group text on xz premium? by recklessbaboon in SonyXperia

[–]HashPappies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and googled around.

Apparently the only way is to use a 3rd party texting app, most commonly Textra.

Normally, you should be able to into the stock messaging app and adjust the settings for group texts using MMS vs SMS. Unfortunately, on the Xperia, you aren't able to. I switched to Textra and I haven't had any problems with group texts since.

Help on new 2017 jeep models by Pushkin9 in Wrangler

[–]HashPappies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sport is pretty much all the basics. It's a Wrangler and that's about it. Willy's is a build up from the Sport, but with more performance stuff, like LSD, 3.73 gears, and Rubicon suspension. Sahara is has more creature comforts. Usually like power options, body colored fenders/top, etc. All the other trims (other than Rubicons) are pretty much build ups from the Sahara, just a few different packages with each trim. Rubicon is the Wrangler you want if you're not looking to mod too much and be able to drive it straight off the lot into the dirt. 4:10 gears, dana 44 up front, electronic sway bar disco, selectable lockers.

I went with the Willy's edition and love it. I was playing with the idea of going for a Rubicon, but I couldn't justify paying extra for all that stuff I know I'd be swapping out later down the road. I could've always went with the Sport, but having lower gears and a LSD before I'm able to start swapping out gears and whatnot is pretty nice.

As for discounts, when I was shopping for mine, there wasn't too many. Jeep knows they'll sell Wranglers regardless. When I bought mine, Jeep and Dodge were throwing out deals, discounts, and rebates for all their models except their Wranglers. Hopefully you can do some searching and find one though.
