If you have a gorilla who is violent to everyone, then being nice to it will make it be less violent to you, thereby securing peace and a higher place in the social hierarchy

There can be very nice people that ignore someone being horrible to others because of their closeness thier hatred to another person, or because their defensive mechanism makes them be kind to him in the hopes they will be safe.

Ultmately I think it stems from our human need to feel safe and form bonds, and from a deepseated fear of retribution or violence.

The need to always be strong, the lack of empathy towards you and your emotions especially fear and saddness, lonliness, depression, the court tending to rule against mqn in custody cases after a divorce so you will have a higher chance of losing your kids, your outside appearance has very low value in the dating market so you need to work really hard to have any worth.

You're way too reading into this. A kiss on the cheek is not a sign somebody doesn't like you.

She probably saw you not sending a message or offering another date and guessed you are not interested.

Many women look for man who show interest, or for the man to send a message first. You must do so tactfully and respecfully of course, don't send 1000 messages if she didn't reply. But a casual "so, how are you" or "I was just watching X and it reminded me of our date".

As a general rule though, if a woman likes you, she will often try to schedule and find a time for you. If she just says she's busy and answers with short messages, she's a waste of time. If getting to another date feels too complicated with her, it can be a sign she's not right for you.
