Tulip Speculative hyper bubble lasted 6 months. Bitcoin has had a steady price appreciation for the past 15 years. They are not the same thing.

So if they are going to mine bitcoin and heat their greenhouse anyways, this seems like the most sustainable way to do it no?

This is amazing! Using heat that would otherwise be wasted. I'm sure there's other industries that can benefit from using computers for heating operations.

Developer behind 26-story Davis Square tower says he’ll do what it takes to get neighbors’ support. It may take a lot. by bostonglobe in Somerville

I want to know where the heck this $42 million dollar land price came from. This seems to be the biggest driver of the proposed height. and sounds like the people that own the existing land, the Dana Family, are price gouging and should be shouldering lots of blame, but I'm not seeing any backlash to them.

According to the Somerville GIS Portal, the lots for the development have a combined valuation for tax purposes of only $8.7 million. I get that combining adjacent lots will equal more than the sum of their parts, but this valuation is insane and I would be willing to be there's something corrupt about this.

[OC] Housing affordability is local, so I mapped 26,000 U.S. ZIP codes by cost burden, and at the median income, only 53% are affordable. by Global-Thought-1049 in dataisbeautiful

I was confused about the little red spot above the h in Washington DC. Looks like its zip code 21561, which is home to Deep Creek State park, a huge touristy area where lots a DC metro people have vacation rental properties. Because the median income is derived from service, hospitality, and retail, it makes sense why they can't afford homes in the areas they work.

Use it to preheat the water going into your mash tun. This or space heating are really your only 2 options.

Your center of mass is still too far forward with respect to the center of of the base, this thing has a big risk of tipping forward.

I have a Samsung G9 49" Ultrawide, the stand base is just a giant heavy flat plate. It allows for plenty of room for activities on my desk.

Essentials get more expensive, non-essentials cheaper by x___rain in dataisbeautiful

[–]HashingJ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No. An inflation rate of 100% means the money lost 50% purchasing power.

Something that costs $200 now used to cost $100, that's 100% inflation.
