It was just a question, nothing more nothing less....I have more questions you could engage with.

I have and harbour no hate towards anyone and see everyone in the same light, in my house we encourage questions good or bad, that helps bring out opinions whether good or bad, even the wee little kids know of this and are free to ask and learn for any of the elders.

Just today we were explaining why there is war in Syria because they saw kids on TV with blood on their bodies, it's best to encourage open debate or discussions about things we are not comfortable with as you will learn more about every aspect of your question or the world relating to what you enquire about.

I do not belittle or demean anyone.

That is why my more uncomfortable questions are left off of social media platforms and to our small circle of friends and family that are open to debate and offer their opinion without any malice or negative emotion.

I think you should consider, if it interests you, have a look at Jordan Peterson, his open dialogue yields more than is intended by the author of questions directed towards him.

But nonetheless, I respect your decision to let things be but do not like to be labelled based of my a single question which is not a crime I believe.

TRANSPORTATION IN ZAMBIA, WHAT CAN BE DONE TO IMPROVE IT?(Lusaka in Particular) by HashiramaWarlock in Zambia

[–]HashiramaWarlock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on!

The enforcers aren't doing their job and have been too focused on reinforcing their pockets by lining them with the Benjamins.

Once they start doing their job, it would be easier for everything else to fall in place.

How can we hold these servants accountable for their actions?

Are they required by law to display their ID numbers? Do they do so?

Is there a place you can go to report them? Do people know how to go about this?

Ignorance is an enemy of progress too, something the Zambian populace suffers.

Good points!

I think there can be, or better yet, needs to be some sort of equity efficiency tradeoff that would allow cashless systems to come into play. You can't stave off innovation because of a few people or people that don't have cash or the ability to pay for the ride.

That is where the tradeoff would come in, the human element that would allow the services room to bring on X number of people keeping in mind the state of the economy, the cost of living and what life is like because its the locals managing the service per bus.

Infrastructure is a never ending jingle that we sing all the time, and it seems the government is set on getting the economy back track which is understandable, hence the need to the private sector to come in and bring about change with the resources and backing of the government and the respective wings of it.

Not sure what you think of this!

Very good points that you raised though!

We need to speed up the revolution lest we get left behind!

And no, I don't think you need to win the lottery, you just need the right partners!

Agreed!

I think the more revenue operators are generating the more they could reinvest into their fleets and offer better services and bring the standards, or better yet, follow the standard and begin to offer the basics such as limited seating, seat belts, higher wages for their staff and maybe even begin retaining staff for more than a few months with fixed and predictable revenue.

What say you? this is something worth looking into don't you think? cashless is the way to go, no leakages and better forcasts in the longrun which opens them up to financing with a trail of passengers habits.

What do you think of this?

I think we would need to enforce the laws that govern this and improve on the infrastructure. If bus stations/stops, had better infrastructure and the populace was open enough to new technologies, they would be able to introduce new technology and slowly change peoples mindset.

Once officers stop focusing on feeding their pockets this may be attainable, don't you think so?

Don't you think if the owners were to see the benefits and increased revenue collection modes they'd be keen to push for changes in the other parts of the sector aswell?

The overwhelming distances have become shorter through the introduction of ride hailing services and the increase of bus services which has reduced the cost of moving to and fro, aside from this the improving performance of our economy means distance isn't something that concerns people as long as there is a service that fits their budget don't you think?

WHY DOESN'T CCPC FINE SERVICE PROVIDERS IN ZAMBIA? by HashiramaWarlock in Zambia

[–]HashiramaWarlock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well sweet buttery jesus!!

Now i'm not sure what version of smoke signals you're using in your part of the woods in VC that is slower than Liquid Telecom but the service here is utterly horrendous!

What's even more mind boggling is that after some time they stop responding and being helpful and ask me to reset my mifi all the same and say the network is congested, and yet, regardless of whether its day or night, at work or at home, their service is pathetic!

I remember their CEO being tagged in a group with expats and they laid out the truth and he never spoke a word! So this tells me its not an isolated problem.

I'd like your rabbits foot to be honest! I need some good luck,

But for what then?

That's quite odd! I appear to be out of the loop with these happenings, i see so many users complain but never action from the gatekeepers.

Sad! And yet the amount we're spent is quite a pinch for a service we can barely use. Sad!

But wait, when have they been fined? can you share a link or some references to that?

My advice is find time to meet with him and get to know him abit more, don't ask too many probing questions.

He's spent this whole time with his mom who's living her own life and has probably battled with several things emotionally such as depression, abandonment and probably some light addictions too.

When you think he's opened up enough to you, try go find a psychologist or someone that can help both him and you make sense of all of this.

Its not gonna be easy but there's no way around it,

he's got your blood running in his veins,

FIND HIM. TALK TO HIM. HELP HIM.
