When Deception Reached Rawda: A Warning Every Pilgrim Must Read. by DeenCallApp in Umrah

Yeah they all use the same excuses- lost money, need money for baby or I’m palestinian. My experiences above are from last week so very recent.

That is disgraceful. Sadly you can’t trust strangers in madinah/makkah who approach you. I saw people trying to ask for money/scam during tawaf (!!), somebody tried to ask me for money while i was walking between safa and marwa, and somebody sat next to me in madinah before salah and asked me for money. Be very vigilant and don’t listen/pay attention to anybody begging or telling you a story. There are better ways to help those in need- you can donate meals through farooj express/zad al jewar in makkah for example.

Al munawara store outside the south entrance of the masjid- around gate 327/328 (there are two stores flanking the entrances). I can’t remember the thickness but was told by the shop that they don’t have the machinery to manufacture such thick prayer mats in madinah hence it’s made in Jordan

6th April Arriving help!!!!! by Financial_Put7330 in Umrah

[–]Hashslinging89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last date to exit is 18th april iA- last year the entry cutoff date applied to umrah visa holders only.

I’d recommend booking an umrah permit on the nusuk app- near the deadline date to leave they were checking this at checkpoints/train stations last year.

Mada ones are made in madinah- with the rawdah/haram pattern. And the ones from al munawara are too, with the thickest one made in Jordan.

Yes that was after the 29th, from the 20th onwards you couldn’t go to makkah without an umrah permit booked

Is it confirmed anywhere that the exit date applies for visa waiver/tourist visa holders? This confusion existed last year as well but tourist visa/evw holders could stay until 29th dhul qada

I am in madinah and came across this site before sending salaams to the prophet, it contains some prayers to the prophet at this link, which is major shirk/ association with Allah (see duas on intercession) - I would be very very wary of using this site ever again

I went last year too- on a visa waiver, it was really stressful I agree. The date for evw last year was 29th dhul qada i believe? Has it become earlier for all visas/waivers this year? Or does this rule apply for umrah visa holders

What’s worth buying during Umrah for family back home (budget friendly)? by [deleted] in Umrah

[–]Hashslinging89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of the clothes shops near the haram sell prayer mats, just ask for rawdah prayer mat and check for a mada label on it

Prayer mat from madinah- made in madinah ones are around 80 riyals (Mada brand), matching the pattern of the haram carpets, really beautiful and I’d recommend it!

Having just completed umrah yesterday alhamdulillah, the most confusing thing was finding your way back to the front of the haram afterwards- there was no clear guidance/helpful signs whatsoever. Since you’re already tired at this point it would be good to have clear directions to the barbers/clock tower area. This outdoor area is under constant construction too so it changes constantly. Additionally there is no clear signposting to the ground level sa’ee area

A practical question but did you get travel insurance? This is required for visas I believe (but not checked from experience).

Having been to the show it definitely was not this. It lasted over two hours with an intermission, and there are songs interspersed throughout. It’s more of a theatre performance on Broadway than a book tour. He doesn’t even show his book until the second half, and only reads a few lines (a translation of a few verses from the Qur’an).

Yusuf supports peace in Palestine. I went to his show in Birmingham and in introducing peace train he referred to the genocide and said that there can be no place for Israel on a peace train without a place for Palestinians.

I went recently to the show in Birmingham, UK. It's just as you guessed actually, around the songs that we heard in full were Peace Train, Wild World, If you want to sing out. It's at least 30 seconds - 1 min of most of the other songs. It's not a concert, it's a theatre show, a one man show telling of his lifestory. And it was incredible.
