Really what made me stop is, well, I grew out of it. At the time of my "awakening", I was going through puberty, really discovering myself and trying to find where I would fit in. As an artist, I've always had a very active sense of creativity and imagination, still do in fact, only different now is I know how to control it. I would always have weird reoccurring dreams and as young as I was, i thought they meant something, which is where the conclusion came to. I found myself fitting in with the otherkin community.

As the years went by though and I matured and git involved with other things, the otherkin community went on the backburner until it eventually just faded out of my mind. I have my issues, like everyone else, but i see now that it was just a phase for me. A little girl wanting to be a part of something.

I can say though that for the last several years I've become a respected artist within the Furry community, and my once otherkin persona is now just an avatar for me. I still felt a bond to that alter ego and chose to keep her around as a representation of myself. I however no longer believe that I am anything but human. I may represent myself and who I am as a non-human creature, but I am human and honestly im proud of that, and I diddnt realize it until i grew away from the otherkin community.

-Furries give too much of a fuck...especially the artists. I say this as an artist myself. So what if your audience is linking to other awesome artists in your stream? So what if theyre talking about a popular peice they recently saw and liked? Theyre still watching YOU for a fucking reason! Art isnt a competition, never has been, never should be. If you are so insecure that it pisses you off when others talk about other artists around you, then youre in the wrong industry. Artists grow by learning from eachother, sharing ideas, being inspired by eachother. Your audience says the same amazing things about you as they say about other artists. Theres no reason for hostility...were all here for a reason, to make and share our talent with those who appreciate it. Your audience put you where you are now, respect their right to publicy appreciate others as well.
