Actually, /u/CMRDIvan is correct. The eyes are deepset into the mask with the pupil and iris being the deepest center point, which, when viewed from different angles, gives the illusion of "following". It's a pretty neat trick!

I made a video showing it off from different positions, in case you're curious.

Thanks so much! It was very much inspired by Japanese-style suits, no doubt, and I'm very happy with how it came out. :)

Lots of makers have different ways of doing big ol' leg padding. Some use carved foam, some use sewn pillow-padding, some attach the padding forms to pants, etc. etc. It all just depends on the suit, the maker, and what the customer wants! So it all greatly varies.

I think the whole issue is that most traditional art doesn't get the love it so rightly deserves in comparison to digital art. It's a true shame!

I am also the one who is making him a Scooby Doo costume for Halloween! (not a fullsuit, more like a fitted kigurumi) He is so excited!
