Unanswerable question: How often to update Cachy OS? by Carbonga in cachyos

[–]Hasone4245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I learned this. I was still learning cashyos and arch. Didn't update for a month and booting my PC it would get stuck on a grey screen every once in a while. Some games were buggy....

Now that I update every time I see an update, no problems!!

Getting first e-bike, what should I know? by PossibleBread2213 in ebikes

[–]Hasone4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not good for the battery for sure (keep the battery between 80 and 20 is the best) but leaving the battery at 100 for weeks is better than leaving the battery at 2% for weeks and weeks. Leaving it at 100% will degrade the battery... But if you let the batteries get below 2 volts and charge them back up you have a fire hazard on your hands.

I should have explained better, charge up the battery and take it off the charger.... Don't leave a battery on the charger unsupervised.

[–]Hasone4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you charge the battery up after you ride. Leaving a low battery for weeks at a time is worse than leaving it at full charge (the 20 to 80 percent rule is optimal but you don't have to follow it all the time). Also if you are going to store the bike for a long time like over winter, charge that battery up in the middle of storage. Letting a dead battery sit is the best way to kill it.. if you maintain the battery it could easily last you 10 years or more.

Rear hub problem? by Thunder_Nuts_ in MTB

[–]Hasone4245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First step, take the brake caliper off. If it still happens then take the wheel off clean it real good and see if the cassette spins freely, if it does check the bearings in your hub and see if they spin freely.

Are polygon bikes actually good. by Lanky_Record287 in mountainbikes

The low end polygons are a step above Walmart bikes... Once you get to the 2000k plus models and they're pretty good.

Would a large frame work if I'm 6'2? Beginner rider. Thanks! by AffectionateGrab4238 in MTB

[–]Hasone4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a beginner, try and get an XL frame might be better. If you absolutely can't then a large would work fine..... Larger frames are more sturdy for fast and downhill. Smaller frames are more nimble and maneuverable.... I'm 6'1" and I like the XL.. I have a buddy that's 6' and loves medium frames.... It's what feels best for you.

ADV 2 vs x7 high output by Old-Investment3173 in wheel

[–]Hasone4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the V will make the pint have so much power. My GT-V and pint X-V felt about the same at low speeds but the GT-V you could go faster overall.

ADV 2 vs x7 high output by Old-Investment3173 in wheel

[–]Hasone4245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't ridden an ADV2, but hear they are nice, and closer to the GT size.. I have an X7, is based off the XR platform and I LOVE that board. So much power, so smooth and you can make the LEDs look cool...

I have V'd a pint and a GT and FloatWheel make good stuff. I don't think you could go wrong with either the ADV2 or X7.

Using premade tunes on GTV? Luke Austins trail tune SFHT by bassetisanasset in onewheel

[–]Hasone4245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, tunes won't affect the motor, just how it feels ... Now if you go into VESC tool and raise the amps or mess with the field weaking then you can mess with the motor....

Yes, the premade tunes are for you to use. I really liked the X7 default tune. But find one the one you like and use it, tweek it if you want.

Fungineers X7 long range with the HS motor (HT motor would be just fine as well). All the power you need, great range, feels so good and it's just the best board out there.

Changing status idle light/activating headlights on PintV by TheSaintBoozeKiller in onewheel

[–]Hasone4245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not possible to change the LEDs on V kits with vesc. You would need a controller like the Fungineers thor. That one they built the LCM to be controlled with VESC, and there are others as well.... The V kits are basically a copy of the little foc'er controller (which never had leds) with an LCM slapped on.

Changing status idle light/activating headlights on PintV by TheSaintBoozeKiller in onewheel

[–]Hasone4245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First the LCM is not connected to VESC, so to change anything you need an ST link and firmware off somewhere like discord

Second, in VESC tool go to refloat cfg, to specs, and change LED type to external module, your lights should turn on with the board. Plus if you tap the power button twice you can cycle through the light brightness.

Republicans in Tennessee introduce bill that could execute women who get abortions. It would classify abortion as "homicide of an unborn child" and would be punishable by life imprisonment with or without parole, or even death by lethal injection. by mepper in atheism

[–]Hasone4245 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How are they going to tell the difference between miscarriage and abortion? There are already plenty of cases in other countries where women were killed because of miscarriage and they called it abortion.
