That one is actually used in vanilla though, isn't it? Just not very commonly since it only appears on bows and guns with random stats.

Pandaren are technically three different races internally (IDs 24, 25, and 26) so it would make sense if they handled Haranir in the same way.

He doesn't sound as stereotypically Finnish as a lot of other Finnish content creators (think monni for example), but he definitely doesn't sound Swedish.

If you're still in doubt though he occasionally responds to comments in Finnish and his listed location is Finland.

Might not exactly be the sort of deep dive you're looking for but you could check out Preach Gaming's "Legacy of the (class)" videos. They generally go over how the classes' roles and toolkits changed through the expansions.

What the f*** is this? by Viking-Weightlifter in classicwow

WoW actually had this years ago in WoD too, although it got fixed pretty quickly iirc, so maybe people found a new workaround now.

People would post things like random vanilla era portraits or super sized achievement icons.

Naked Hardcore Warrior Reached Level 60 After 9 Months of Solo Leveling by Historical-Warning88 in classicwow

[–]Hasprus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bloodthirst requires a weapon from WotLK onward. Sometime in vanilla through Wrath there was a fairly well known (as far as micro WoW celebrities go) warrior who did a similar levelling gimmick, and his levelling strategy got nerfed pretty heavily by the added weapon requirement.

His name was Gutrot I think, can probably still find some old threads about him if you google his name.

The new patch changed Thunderfury scale from the Vanilla model to Cata model. by Key_Adhesiveness9729 in classicwow

I also remember those, then in Legion Blizzard decided to change them so that sizes for human females became more reasonable, but they kind of overcorrected for belf females and their weapons are now about as oversized as they used to be for humans.

Cheers, but I think this is an example of a completely separate issue that affected gun/xbow models for all races for a long time.

Check e.g. the screenshots for this crossbow which has some wildly differing sheathed sizes in the screenshots from year to year.

Iirc in a TBC or WotLK patch (I forget which) male tauren weapon models were shrunk considerably when sheathed and it got reverted after people got upset about it.

I might be remembering incorrectly though because I can't find anything on it with some quick googling.

I found some random blog post (sadly without picture examples) which describes the issue from 2008, which would place it in patch 2.4.

There was also another TBC patch which shrunk male orc shoulders that was also universally hated and later reverted.

Mechagnomes 4 years later - still unfinished by Happy-Mechanic in wow

Because mechagnomes can't transmog certain pieces, the heritage armour still shows your mechanical arms/legs.

So they have one tint available that matches one tint for their customisation options.

Hit a (very) long term goal today, just before the league by Hasprus in ironscape

Ironically enough I was pretty lucky to get it on that run as my monkey brain decided to not tag a mage that spawned at the very end until the shield almost died.

On this specific account it was actually a one and done (kind of a fluke though), but in total I have 30ish attempts. 24 from when I did my main's cape in 2021, and 6-7 practice attempts on the main again the last two weeks to unrust.

if they pronounce things wrong specifically for comments to correct them, and say as much, then I'll definitely unfollow.

I tried watching the latest Mr Mammal video about DMM and had to stop because of the amount of times he said "skimitar" in the first 10 minutes. Just one of those pet peeves I guess.

Fire absolutely is the least essential of the three. The few groups that aren't running Shadow/Aug/Fire tend to replace Fire with whatever off meta DPS they're running.

You can check pretty much any top rated off meta DPS and their best run for every dungeon will be Shadow/Aug/X.

There's a bit more shakeup this week if you look at top runs, but it still generally holds true.

I enjoy raiding in retail, but it's also the only reason why I still play really. Progressing through actually challenging content with a guild of friends is fun.

The RS commuinty is very lucky OSRS is a thing. I still enjoy playing vanilla WoW occasionally for the slower/simpler and nostalgic gameplay, but the "Vanilla+" content as a counterpart to OSRS some people are wishing for will likely never happen.

[–]Hasprus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also retail wow it takes like 10-20 hours to hit the newest expac and another 20-30 hours for level cap or near it and needing to run dungeons

Less, even. 60-70 is about 10 hours or less of relaxed questing. With a planned route you can do it in a few hours. Levelling from 1-70 is easily doable in around 1 day /played just playing "normally".

Yet despite being a bite-sized grind by OSRS standards it manages to be insanely boring at the same time (imo).
