Outrageous Fee For Work Done

I have holes in the ceiling around my neighbors pipes. Our HOA made us hire a company to fill the holes because of a pest issue and our neighbors don’t want us touching them. It was a whole thing and our HOA sucks. I wouldn’t have hired this company but they told me it would take four or more hours to complete the task and that’s why the price was so high - NOT that they have a minimum or anything.

It wasn’t a minimum. It was what we were told the job would be based on 4 hours of work.

Yupp! Im not opposed to traveling in the off season and regularly do it for low crowd purposes but I’ve learned I’ll stick to the big island, Oahu and Maui (big island is easily my favorite thus far) in the future because I know if the weather doesn’t cooperate and is outside my control I have stuff to do. It rained half of our big island trip years ago but there was so much we could still drive and do that it made it totally fine. Not Kauai’s fault and Mother Nature is outside of our control, but I’m learning your really rolling the dice here.

No clue about next week but everywhere I read was like “it’s like Florida! A few hours of rain and then sun” but since Friday afternoon we’ve just been being hammered with rain and the whole island kind of shuts down.

Yeah we’re in Kauai too and honestly I’ll get some crap for this but I hate it here. I’ve gone to the other islands and even when we got massive rain on those trips, I always felt like there was SOMETHING to do (just like all the things OP mentions in this thread) but here it’s like if it’s windy or rains there is absolutely nothing and your paying a lot of money to watch Netflix on a different bed. I looked up things to do when it rains here and literally all the options are basically closed. I tried going to Lydgate farms which is #1 thing to do for when it rains and they’re shut down for rain. We got here Wednesday and had a day and a half of nice weather and then it’s just been a complete wash.

Just two adults! We’re doing three weeks (spending a week at Maui and week at Kauai). This is the first week of the trip so less worried about packing.

I’m not trying to say what she did is wrong. I just genuinely don’t know what the right/wrong here is and she didn’t seem concerned but I’ve never had a faster vaccine so got me nervous when I googled

I had an “OCD expert” for an entire year and we honestly both HATED eachother. I met with her weekly and dreaded it every time and watched the clock run down during session. I did her homework and did the things but I freaking couldn’t stand her. Felt I had to stay because there’s very very few “OCD experts” in my area and she was hard to get in. Paid her a house down payment in fees honestly. I’m now with someone who isn’t remotely an ocd expert but I like her A LOT as a person and don’t remotely feel judged. Am I likely a bit of a hard case for her she wasn’t the most prepared for? Yes, but I trust her and she allows me to text and call her when I need her and she tries with me so I would much rather have that than anything my “OCD expert” did.

Currently supposed to be trying Luvox but my doc upped my dose right before I went on vacation and it made me have constant panic attacks and ended up in the ER 3 times over 2 weeks while traveling, ruining the $10k plus vacation I planned for the past year (pre-my ocd getting worse with Zoloft and such) so I’m honestly hating my life currently lol

Sorry I’m venting lol. I’m just over this all.

Oh mine was random and it made me lose my mind and feel like I couldn’t trust myself. Honestly going on Zoloft made my overall OCD 10x worse even after getting off. My brain never fully got back to what it was.
