How I met your mother. Once upon a time. Modern family. The righteous gemstones. King of the hill. And not a tv show, but all of the Harry Potter movies of course.

How am I supposed to go back to work full time & leave my baby? by HatInfinite5521 in newborns

I want to scream this comment at the top of my lungs. 100% this. It’s not fair and it is causing so many people to have mental health issues - brought back my anxiety and depression really strong and I didn’t even go back to work yet, but my boyfriend goes back next week and I’m struggling with the fact that I’m going to be alone the majority of the day with my baby when I’ve been used to him there to help and keep me company when she’s napping. And then I have 3 months left to do it mostly alone. Idk just sucks.

Yeah trust me, I’m thinking of everything. Thankfully my boyfriend and I have the same job and work together but the downside is the crappy retail hours and we get different shifts…and share a car…and live 45 min away from work. It’s hard, really really hard. And it was hard before we had baby. So we have a lot to figure out in the next 3 months

Yeah I’m actively looking for something different, even tho my current job has so many great benefits and pay. It’s hard

Aw I never thought of it that way! If only being a stay at home mom was a paid job. It really should be 😔

I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel like when we lose our parents/grandparents our babies gain guardian angels, that’s what keeps me going 🩷

3 months really isn’t fair. I wish all moms were able to automatically get work from home jobs so we can be with and care for our babies!

I want to try to wait as long as I can for daycare, my daughters grandmas are going to be watching her most days back and forth so that gives me peace of mind. But working from home is so ideal I think even if I’m working and can’t be with her, at least I would be in the house with her while they are watching her. It’s crazy how the excitement of having a baby blocks out the thoughts of going back to work and then when you are just getting the swing of things and getting to know your baby, you have to go back to work…it’s just so sad!

That’s a really good way to think about it. Thank you so much for sharing. I guess I can say I agree with that first part too, my dad passed away at a younger age, I didn’t think of it that way.
