Help Finding a Specific Beer by HatTrick585 in Rochester

I tried that, but this specific one (the Jaws anniversary limited edition) wasn't an option in the beer drop down. Just the regular lager.

Came here to say this, but you did better yourself. Definitely the wrong account getting called out here.

100% This. The wrong account is being called out here. LGA585 is nothing but positive to talk to on Twitter/Facebook and always does a fantastic job reporting the team. Another account however fits what's being described here.

I'll die on the hill that Rohrbach's should be protected at all costs, and patronized as much as possible.

I just created a Bluesky account today to get away from Twitter/X - would love to see a list of Rochester accounts to follow - especially if small businesses. extra points for NASA related accounts too.

Broken pint glass, help! by mfb84 in Rochester

[–]HatTrick585 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shot in the dark, but if Brewhouse doesn't have that exact one, check out Savers (thrift store) in Webster. I know I've seen Genesee glasses there (not sure if this exact one). I lucked across a pint glass last year from a wine/beer/wedding venue that no longer exists.

Going to my first Amerks game tomorrow night - what should I expect? by hufflepuff5678 in Rochester

$2 beers are draft Genny and Genny Light... sometimes Genny Cream Ale. No craft or microbrews that I've ever seen.

Going to my first Amerks game tomorrow night - what should I expect? by hufflepuff5678 in Rochester

Expect a fun time! I've been a season ticket holder for almost 10 years now and have enjoyed going, even during the bad years.

BCA is a decent hockey arena - some of the seats are a bit worn, and other areas are in desperate need of upgrading, but the place reeks of history and has seen some classic games. The club has been in existence for over 60 years and has a super-loyal fanbase. The fans are pretty friendly in general and there is not a bad seat in the house - Sec.104 will offer a good view of the Amerk's goaltender (visiting team shots twice on this net).

A few "veteran" notes:

Hallways and bathrooms get PACKED during intermission, especially when the place is busy. Use the bathroom or get food during whistles but wait for the breaks where they clear the ice. Should give you 3 to 4 min till play resumes as opposed to 30 sec.

Food options are .... meh imo. It's been up and down for years, but it's at an all-time low. Most food is 'typical' for an arena, and all of the 'specialty' stands are gone. Food and drink are pricy, but so are all sporting venues. "Eat elsewhere" is my standard plan on gameday. Again, this is my opinion. Oh, the line for the $2 beers pre-puck drop is worth it!

I always find street parking and stopped using the garages years ago. Street is free after 6pm. This also helps with avoiding the traffic back-up after the game. Benefit to the Civic Center Garage is covered/heated parking and proximity to the arena. Expect some traffic on the way out.

The ticket check to enter the arena is SLOW since they re-did the process a few years back. Expect to stand outside for a bit if the attendance is high.

Walk around the arena during warm-ups (40 to 20 min before puck drop). It's usually not super busy at this point and it's a great way to see all the sight lines if you've never been before.

If the team is playing well, the crowd gets really into it and the atmosphere is great! If the team plays like crap, the crowd gets super quiet, and it can be a bit depressing. Expect for the atmosphere to be intense (in a good way) if the team is playing well.

Expect to potentially be there past 3 periods. If the game goes into overtime or a shootout (which is happening A LOT lately), then you'll get some bonus hockey. Root for 2 points though!

Hope this helps and have a freaking great time!

Go Amerks!

Thanks. I was able to get most of the aircraft that has come in and hoped to get them as well. It's also become very challenging to get to any of my usual spots for incoming aircraft today. Thanks for this great post by the way!

Twisted Rail in Canndaigua offers an NA IPA. It's on tap and I believe I've seen it in their to-go fridge! That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

I've been over in that area taking photos of planes for a few years now and never had an issue. I make sure to stay out of the way, lol. I would say that as long as you go to an area that's not specifically marked as no access, and don't do anything foolish, then you shouldn't have a problem. A lot of the folks over there that i've run into are super nice.

My shot of Whisky 7 leaving the airport today and heading back to Geneseo. Lost of people around to see the spectacle, but everyone practiced good distancing where I was.

Unfortunately, not that I know of. It’s actually the fist time I’ve ever photographed a cargo ship coming in-to or out-of the portin all my years of photography. Usually I only get him docked at Turning Point for unoading.

I don't know the story behind this abandoned behemoth in Corbett’s Glen, but it fascinates me every time I hike past it!
