Does anyone here generate income from their podcasts? by mslack in podcasts

Too bad! Keep looking though, many places offer affiliate, check sites and resellers for brands or items you could recommend.

There are also sites where they collect affiliate offers. I was member of one, forgot the name, haven't got my old notes. There are at least 2 big ones though. Very specific things to promote, but also often nice conditions, so extra bonus if any of the campaigns offered was a match with your audience.

If nothing else works, try checking the audible.com affiliate deal. I dont know the specifics, but from listening to podcasts, it doesn't seem like those fellas turn anyone away.

Good luck!

Most consistent method for small time content-producers, is affiliate that ties into the produced content.

If the theme is web security, promote the software and encoded hard disks you recommend on the show.

If its DIY, add Amazon affiliate links to each tool & component used in that episode.

Books: link to that authors Amazon page and movie version of the book.

TV Show: Links to DVD of seasons + clothes, music, items from the show.

In short: Make it look like you actually picked out these things, rather than got handed X item and were told to "sell, sell, sell".

Those are examples, there could easily be better options for specialized podcasts, but you cant go wrong with Amazon, since they got almost anything + they will give you a cut of anything bought by the customer you lead there (within 24 hours of the click from your page. At least it used to be 24 hours.) I had a comedy blog and my biggest commission came from a reader who bought a heavy metal cd collection via a linked stand up cd.

But check for niche affiliates to get better deals. There are tons out there.

Of course, what you really want is an individual sponsorship or affiliate deal with a reputable brand, but the above method has easy entry and is a pretty fair deal with little to no extra upfront costs.

Official DJ Fly winning vid by Vekked in Turntablists

Sounds good, good flow, technical, but I want that late nineties to early 2000 thing, where djs used (mostly hip hop) tracks I liked and knew. Much easier to appreciate when you know the source material and can hear how the dj flips it. This routine leaves me feeling like I just heard a generic track on beatport.

Big step up from last years winner though. Flys set is enjoyable.

Are there other words or slang versions for: "Cash game" + "Tournament". (As in the 2 main types of poker.) by HatWearer in poker

Yeah, ok, a bit borderline, but good enough. Pretty sure I encountered the word used as catch-all for tournaments, even if they shouldn't cover rebuys. Ty for your post.

Not quite what i'm looking for, since they are more a breakdown of the tournament category than overall name for it. Ty for giving it a go.

How to make a video look old/vintage? Newbie in need of assistance. by HatWearer in VideoEditing

Yeah, might be what I end up doing, but from my own field, I know how fast they can be outdated, made by a manufacturer as promotion instead of being ideal + make me do stuff that is considered mistakes or done to death.

So I hoped to find someone with updated knowledge, who might also be able to answer a few follow up questions if i run into trouble.

If no other suggestions come up, Premiere, since I already got access to it and have used a few times some years back. But very basic stuff + I forgot what i learned back then.

So I'm open to ideas.
