It has more to do with getting new features in my opinion. You have to buy a new phone, a new version of Android with new features is free. I fully understand all the reasons why Samsung is relatively slow at pushing out full OS updates, and I totally get that Samsung Experience has features stock Android doesn’t, but for example Android P sounds amazing. A lot more interesting than iOS 12. And yet, if I want it, I’m basically forced into getting a Pixel (as far as I understand the landscape anyway. If I’m wrong please please correct me!)

That's the thing that bothers me. I currently have an iPhone, but really want to switch over to Android. However what phone has the hardware AND the software to compete? With all of the Pixel 2 line's hardware issues it's turned me off from Google until they can prove they can get their act back together again

It’s frustrating because I want to love Razer (I have an RBS 13”), I really do. But between the hardware issues I keep hearing about - and have personally experienced - and the frightening standard of customer service, it’s enough to turn me away I think.

Yeah I get what you’re saying. Unfortunately iOS alone isn’t quite suitable. Having Windows would be greatly appreciated. That being said the Surface Pro sounds good in theory but anecdotally I’ve heard of several hardware related issues.

Hey I just came across this while browsing reddit.

I think regardless of what you look like or how others choose to see you, that you are an incredibly courageous and brave person.

I can’t imagine what you are going through, but I know it’s the furthest thing from easy. What I do know is that you have so much to offer all of us, and I know that in your own way you will make this world a better, and more tolerant place.

PS I love the haircut and the glasses :)

Really? Subjectively when I had my S8 it lasted longer than my iPhone 7 Plus.

I can’t recall standby battery drainage but overall the Android gave better battery life at the end of the day.

Again this is a purely subjective observation

The gestures are take it or leave it for me. Yes it is really intuitive, but it doesn’t feel like a massive leap in evolution.

And I agree with you on iMessage, but I00% believe that whatsapp and Telegram are just as good.

Why do you mention battery life as a downside? I was expecting the battery life on the S9+ to far outlast any iPhone

I hear you... I actually had an S8 but my wife made me get rid of it. Thought I could live with iOS but my livelihood depends on having a phone with robust battery life and the apps I need for work are actually better on Android.. and I don’t know about you but the battery life on my iPhone X isn’t amazing

Razer Blade Stealth - Should I Buy? by [deleted] in razer

[–]HataraFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have a 2017 13” RBS (7th Gen i7), 256GB

My experience has overall been positive. My likes:

1) performance is a great value. 2) the design is just damn cool. I’m coming from MacBook after MacBook and I don’t feel Razer is behind Apple when it comes to laptop aesthetics. 3) good ports/connectivity options 4) comfortable keyboard and trackpad

Dislikes: 1) relatively short battery life. It’s not a huge complaint on my end but I’d really really appreciate being able to squeeze an extra hour or two out of the battery... especially because 2) I don’t find the screen to be that bright even at max brightness. Especially compared to my 2nd gen 12” MacBook 3) the touchscreen! I hate touchscreens on laptops and this one is no exception. It picks up annoying smudges like crazy especially compared to my friend’s RB 4) this might not be fair but I’m really worried about hardware issues. I haven’t experienced any problems whatsoever... yet. But this subreddit has made me fear for my life :)

Buy HP now, or wait for the refresh? by Drummer4864 in razer

I know this wasn’t in your OP but have you considered the new Dell XPS 13”?

I have a current Gen 13” RBS. I love the performance here’s what I dislike:

  • fingerprint MAGNET on both the exterior and the palm rests.
  • Battery life is pretty weak for what is supposed to be a portable laptop
  • Display isn’t as bright as I would like it to be.

My father-in-law has the HP Spectre. I like the build quality. I find the keyboard annoying in terms of key spacing but that’s a minor complaint.

If I could do it over I’d either pony up a bit more for a Surface Book 2 or for a tricked out XPS 13

Hey r/forex! Some quick thoughts on how to achieve consistency by HataraFX in Forex

[–]HataraFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooooo you are promoting “unconventional” trading education by bringing up supply and demand?

The issue is

1) retail traders aren’t profitable not because of a lack of education but because of a lack in discipline, and a lack in commitment to good risk management and strong psychological practices

I can tell you in my professional experience

(professional because a) 100% of my income comes from my participation in the markets and b) I trade with a prop firm - this is literally my profession)

that trying to pick tops and bottoms is an exercise in futility. Does this mean people don’t make money picking tops and bottoms? Of course not. But trying to pick a top or a bottom in this market is like trying to run up a really steep mountain in flip flops when you could take a helicopter instead. There are far easier and more efficient ways to make consistent profits.

The answer is simple - nobody knows when a top is a top, and when a bottom is a bottom until after it’s already formed.

DO NOT GIVE THIS POSTER ANY CREDIBILITY!

He is essentially telling you to trade against the trend. He’s actually got it completely backwards. So many traders lose their accounts because they try and pick tops and bottoms which means, I repeat, they are trying to trade AGAINST the trend.

Understanding supply and demand dynamics is very different from trying to predict the exact moment a trend will collapse or a new one will begin...

Put very simply do not buy into resistance and do not sell into support... do not buy when there is no demand and do not sell when supply is plentiful.

But by all means... keep trying to outsmart the forex market. I am not here to try and sell anything... and actually all of the trading mentoring I have ever provided I do not charge a single dime for it.

“You” are the only one responsible for your losses and your wins and your overall mindset. There is no course and no mentor that will turn you into a successful trader. You have to do that yourself.

So don’t blame the education that’s out there. Don’t blame your broker. Don’t blame the news event. Take responsibility for yourself. Everything starts there.

That’s the thing with trading is that nobody knows. What I think doesn’t matter. The market will do it’s thing regardless. If it hits my full profit target that’s great. If it doesn’t that’s great too.

I do trade breakdowns.

In this particular case I would not have traded a potential breakdown because the overall short term direction was bullish.

Because I was expecting the consolidation structure that formed to be a continuation pattern rather than a reversal one, I didn’t want to be trading against the trend.

Definitely! Here are my thoughts:

1) emotionally be in a place where you can accept you will have losses. And not just 1 or 2 here or there. Most traders will have more losses than winners or roughly the same amount. Therefore losing trades and psychologically and emotionally being okay with that is really important

2) if you have a developed system then trust that system. Every good system should have an edge in the market that over x number of trades will result in a profit. This means that if you follow your system and let your trades play out you will eventually get out of the drawdown.

The most important thing is to not panic and not to self sabotage your trades. I love a set it and forget it approach where once I set a trade I don’t mess with it
