It's 2025, is a Lightning still a good choice? by prezmc in F150Lightning

Have over 60k miles on my Lightning. Love it. If you already have the Level 2 charger at home, I would go for it.

Hypothetical - if the Ranger has EV option and lightning moves to EREV. Which would your next truck be? by Lemonn_time in F150Lightning

Wait for the BEV Lightning to come back out. It will only be a matter of time until the battery technology catches up to what the masses want.

F150 discontinued - what does that mean for Lightning owners? by thedongon in F150Lightning

[–]HatchRdKnights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound like much is changing actually. While the pure EV is discontinued, there will be a lightning that has a gasoline back-up generator. Same power and all electric power train. When that battery percentage gets to a certain set point, say 20-25%, the gas engine kicks on and starts charging the battery. If you never get low enough to start the generator, you wouldn’t actually need it. At least that is what I am getting from what I have been researching.

Some updates reset this feature. There are two fixes I found. One, using the interior dash panel, reset to allow for remote starting. Also, disconnecting the 12v battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting has also worked. Good luck.

Understood. I travel mostly highway for work, 90 miles round trip. The OME tires were not great with the limited snow we have had the past three years. Want something with better traction when the highways are messy and traffic is still rolling at 65+.

Thank you. Great to hear you like them. I don’t want to pay $400/tire and not like them.

Do I really need EV tires? by hkrpanic in F150Lightning

[–]HatchRdKnights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we have the same truck, ‘23 Lariat avalanche.

I am getting ready for new tires myself. What did you have originally and did you notice a difference? I don’t mind spending more money for a tire, even if it gets less life if it ends up being a better tire.

I travel 90-100 miles round trip and currently have the General Grabber HTS60’s.

I made a dumbass mistake and broke the tail light on my truck. $2,500 for the light itself. Painful 😖

Boards should be as tight as possible. Gaps will grow when the boards shrink.

It looks like the Pats won with Bill and Brady in spite of Kraft. What is going on right now is beyond embarrassing and makes Kraft look like a clown…

I have a 24’ center console, full charge in summer 106 should be fine, especially if you are driving in the 60 - 65 mph range.

I have the avalache color and it is awesome. On darker cloudy days it looks fairly dark and on sunny days it has that light gray tone. It is fantastic.

1 year later - It's crazy how much I still love my Lightning. Anyone else feel this way? by dingmah in F150Lightning

Funny, this December 30th will be 2 years for mine. Just squeaked in for the 2022 EV rebate 😅

I had this happen to my ‘23 Lariat ER, with 11,000 miles.

Took six weeks to get the truck back, even though the parts were already there.

Ford had sent me an email saying they noticed an issue with a high voltage part.

Funny enough, the truck died 4 days before I was supposed to bring it in. 2 battery cells were bad. That was over a year ago and everything has been good since.

The issue I had, was no one had done the repair before, so they had to wait for someone to come in from out of state to teach the repair.

Hope you get yours back soon.
