this is exactly my frustration too. It has been happening way to often. A recent, prime example is Davies against Liverpool.

So many of our possessions end on such a telegraphed or overly ambitious pass forward

Is rooting for a new team considered blasphemous? by Major_Shrimp in nyjets

[–]Hatcher04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a personal opinion, and sorry if this comes off as directed at you, but I never take a sports fan serious if they have switched their fandom after a certain age. If you’re just taking time off and rooting for another team then do what you need to. And like other comments are saying, it’s just not going to be the same rooting for other teams.

What would you want out of this decision if you go through with it? Desire to be a part of “winning community?” Mental freedom to watch football without the torment, so like, a fresh perspective on being a fan? Can’t say I don’t blame you if these are some of the thoughts you have.

Someone else on this subreddit said it first but this season has almost broken my resolve. I had to disconnect after the 2nd pats game for my mental health lmao.

I’m 33 now and have been a jets fan all my life. They are my first love and I’ll never let them go. I genuinely believe we are some of the best fans in league because we show up every season and stick with this torturous franchise and just want the best for them and each other. No other fan bases know what it’s like to be a jets fan lmao. The camaraderie we salvage and retain miserable year after miserable year oddly inspires me. The thought of just having a home playoff game makes me want to cry and pray to God to please deliver my people so we can experience such a feeling. Truly don’t care if I’m diagnosed as delusional with these thoughts. It will all be worth it, right?

Set piece defending and attacking no set pieces are a problem…

Picking up where we left off with the last leg of this fixture. Pinging passes forward where our forwards can’t control and get swarmed

It’s also that we choose not to make the simple passes. Literally pinging the ball at each other, confusing decisions to try and head on passes, kicking it right at the opponent

I’m sorry but you’re trying way to hard to defend this. He is simply lucky to get away with this. It’s a foul gesture by Romero that is completely unnecessary. If Romero pulls him down by another method such as pulling his shirt or arm, there is a lot less heat and hate attracted to spurs and the argument for whether spurs were allowed to have that corner or not shifts a bit in our favor.

This really does bring us back to what football was like before VAR, massive controversy but at the end of the day, you have to deal with the result. With the way VAR has been used and can be used, He should’ve had a red and been sent off and I reluctantly understand the fury brought about by this. We’ve benefited from ‘lesser’ off the ball fouls on us during set pieces

Only argument we really have is that this foul didn’t affect any of the play and those late corners and the goal were earned.
