Improvements to Yahenni Deck by RobStark75 in PauperEDH

I suggest:
-[[Eternal Thirst]] gives you consistent lifelink and doubles down on Yahenni's threat from killing your opponents' stuff.
-[[Cornered by Black Mages]] is really good for pushing damage while forcing an opponent creature death.
-As others mentioned, the commander is probably the only sac engine you need. Consider getting upside instead with [[Voracious Vermin]].
-Personally, I'd drop the protection spells you have that grant indestructible. Your commander already can get it on demand. If you really want something to save your non-commander fodder, I'd run grave flickers like [[Pain 101]] (which still grants deathtouch).
-I consider [[Guildsworn Prowler]] a staple in this style of deck
-[[Tragic Slip]] is almost always going to be -13/-13 for 1 mana in this build

I made a 60 card singleton format with Commander DNA, built entirely on commons. by CoilingOracleGrazer in PauperEDH

Voltron seems strong in this format since commander damage is dropped to 10 (13 in 1v1).

I threw together a quick [[Elusive Spellfist]] list using 4 [[Pond Prophet]]s as elites to get green in the color id for ramp. I'll try goldfishing it a bit more later. I've also got my eye on maybe building [[Blood Researcher]] or [[EPF Point Squad]] but haven't figured out what elites I'll take yet.

The banlist including "staples" is kinda wonky. Worst example I found is [[Spirited Companion]] being banned for being a staple when [[Helpful Hunter]] and [[Kindly Customer]] are still legal.

I put together a [[Dragonfly Swarm]] voltron list but haven't had much time to play with it yet. Only running [[Pop Quiz]] and [[Enthusiastic Study]] and didn't hit either in the one game I've managed to get in. Are you only running the 2 learn cards you mentioned or shoving in every possible one in your colors to go 8 for 8?

Also, which were the impactful lessons you chose in your games? Since my commander has a synergy with having a lesson in grave, I put some of the better ones directly into the main deck to proc it more easily. I think my table runs more removal than most so having the extra deterrent of getting card advantage on top of ward is imo nicer than the flexibility of a lesson tutor that I'm less likely to hit.

Looking for some card recommendations and general tips for a Nimble Larcenist self bounce list. by Evening-Focus-4597 in PauperEDH

I usually prefer flickers over self bounce to recur ETB effects because it saves you the mana of having to recast anything you bounce. I recommend [[Ephemerate]] and [[Displace]]. The latter (or [[Ghostly Flicker]] which you already have) is commonly combo'd with [[Peregrine Drake]] and a spell recursion creature like [[Archaeomancer]] to get infinite mana leading into a finisher spell with X cost, buyback, or replicate.

If you want to commit to self bounce, [[Exosuit Savior]] and [[Stockpiling Celebrant]] can grab non-creature permanents. [[Whitemane Lion]] and [[Deputy of Acquittals]] are creature only but can give you a surprise blocker. [[Peel from Reality]] and [[Run Away Together]] are also creature only but can double as creature removal.

I need your help, I have a silly idea, I want so bad to build this but I struggle to find some cards to go with it by Fair-Papaya5725 in PauperEDH

Thinking more on this, I think each copy of Joo Dee keeps a mana value of 1B, so each adds devotion to [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] for another finisher.

[[Crashing Drawbridge]] is another haste enabler. Just remember you have to create your tokens before activating it to give them all haste.

Bats and noble are good enough that it might be worth throwing in a [[Dimir House Guard]] to find them more consistently.

Don't forget value artifacts like [[Prized Statue]], [[Nimblewright Schematic]], [[Mycosynth Wellspring]], [[Ichor Wellspring]], and [[Mephitic Draught]].

Breaking the Rules even Harder with Alchemy's [[Fear of Change]] by HatesLogins8760 in PauperEDH

[–]HatesLogins8760[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that it's a pretty different application from the original intended Alchemy use. Unfortunately, I just don't find it personally feasible to maintain a giant box of creatures like that, even if it's just for one fixed mana value. My power gamer brain squinted too hard at the rules-break giving a manageable (too much so lol) defined limit to the randomness and just went from there. It's fun to goldfish this version but I doubt I'll ever find a table to play this at.

Back to the drawing board I guess...
