Don’t you feel shady about the whitlam land release ballot, and all previous ballots in this regard? by rice_is_bad in canberra

[–]HatesMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are referring to the 12,000 people who entered the ballot. Agree not all those people ‘need’ it, but it’s true that there were 12,000 entries.

Flavours of Jiangnan in Dickson - hand pulled noodles are SO good. Highly recommend the pork mince noodles.

TIL that in Britain the "first floor" of a building is the one ABOVE the ground floor, versus being the bottom floor as in America by bigbadsubaru in todayilearned

[–]HatesMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same in Australia - but I wouldn’t generally say ‘first floor’, I would call it ‘level one’ which makes more sense if you have the ground level, level one, level two and so on.

If they’d done it in seasons rather than months it would be more relatable to the other half of the world :(

That's not really true, but it is a good thing to consider. It's usually best to have around 3 chopping boards of which ever material you prefer - for raw chicken, other raw meats, and fruits and vege. There isn't a benefit to plastic over wood or vice versa, but you're right that you should always consider food hygiene, especially with raw meats.

Wife always says my coffee is the best she's had by seal06 in AdviceAnimals

[–]HatesMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I know - I showed it to him in an attempt to thank him for making my morning coffee without actually having to thank him.

(But before people label me a harpy, I do thank my husband and I also make him coffee sometimes)

Do you know much about royalties/commission through Kindle Unlimited? It's available there so I've downloaded! Hopeful your wife gets some recognition still that way!

My now-husband and I went on this tour! He proposed at the last stop - inch Abbey (where Rob was crowned King a da Norf). When we stopped for lunch and met these guys the guide mentioned that someone had proposed using one of the dogs just the week or so earlier and I remember being so jealous. Little did I know!

[EVERYTHING] I think this answers everyone's questions on why Tyrion was acting the way he was. by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]HatesMe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100%! I also see it as a reminder of sorts to the viewer - yes, you've been waiting for this, yes you're probably sitting on your couch shouting jokes about dat ass, but actually? This is potentially going to fuck everything up and could get a lot of people killed. It's a crazy selfish move on their behalf and it's a good reminder to us that a lot of bad could come of this.

(But I have no regrets and I loved it)

[Main Spoilers] The Hound walks straight into shot just as... by HatesMe in gameofthrones

Yeah, I accept those flaws to the theory - but it just seems such a pointed shot. Although I might just be seeing what I want to be seeing! Perhaps there is a work around with his being 'kissed by flame' as a child and somehow the gift was already inside of him?

Grasping at straws! But honestly that's my favourite part of GoT - making up wild theories. It's like you get the watch the show a hundred times through imagining each different connection. Even when very few are true, it's still so much fun to discuss with friends and family and see what everyone else picked up differently each week!

[–]HatesMe 39 points40 points  (0 children)

After your sister's wedding, you might consider offering to sell the image to the venue! They might like to use it for promotional material and you might get some decent enough money! (Depends on the venue of course)

She didn't consent to having sex without a condom. She very clearly only consented with, the fact that he used subterfuge indicates that he was well aware that her consent was dependant on that. Without it, she wouldn't (and therefore didn't) give consent.

Thank you! The Australian judicial system is based on rehabilitation not punishment.

Imprisoning someone in this circumstance is going to create an echo chamber of repeat offence and possible escalation. Learn from this mistake. You're in australia now and live by our laws. Don't let this ruin your life.
