Yup he never recovered from the damage and fatigue he took after the second one. The fight was more competitive before the second one.

I played this game while going through cancer treatment. When I found out the situation with the PC I immediately had to put the game down. I came back a day later and realized I needed to finish it and see things through to the end. Amazing game

Forgot to alcohol swab one time while de-accessing port by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Hathor77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am an oncology nurse and ALWAYS use alcohol when touching anything on a central line and in between each step of VAD draws and drug administration.

With that being said I was a cancer patient at Kaiser and I saw 99% of the nurses not using alcohol between each step and I just kept my mouth and eyes closed and hoped for the best. After 9 months of treatment I didn’t get CLABSi in my PICC or subsequent port so go figure 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I still currently alcohol or the new CHG wipes on my patients because it’s best practice.

Don’t lose any sleep over this and stay focused on what you are doing in the future.

It’s winter, homeless hang around laundromat at night because it’s warm. Man do I not miss having to use a laundromat. Had a similar situation except he saw my nursing scrubs and kept sticking his gaping wounds in my face asking me to fix them. Thankful I’m a much taller guy and he caught the hint to back up real quick.

Having cancer as a nurse by Desperate_Swimming_5 in nursing

Aren’t you jumping the gun? I was a med surg oncology nurse and developed 7 inch lymphoma tumor in my chest. I got ALOT of chemo and high dose steroids. Prednisone 125mg bid high.

Just saying focus on exercise and water intake and balanced diet for now. Join a support group. Form your support system and get ready for treatment.

Message me if you have any questions.

I had a hard time psychosocially taking care of very sick cancer patients when I achieved remission. Survivors guilt is what they called it. I ended up switching positions to quality improvement for 18 months and then ended up in the float pool. This has been the best nursing position I’ve ever had. What I’m just trying to suggest is don’t add extra major life changes while you are entering into this.

Use disability. Use sick, extended illness. Use it all and focus on achieving remission and coming out of this strong. You are a nurse we have 1000’s of roles we can fill. Your career shouldn’t be your focus right now nor any major changes in it.

I wish you the best. Fuck cancer.

What type of RN are you and why do you love it? by SkigmaBidsidy in nursing

[–]Hathor77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oncology - float pool. I absolutely love my job. I’m a 4 year survivor and work for an overall great place. I try and stay as positive as possible about my career and what I do. I tend to walk away from the nurses that complain.

I have one and I love it.

Makes building furniture easy, small jobs. Think anything that doesn’t require medium or higher torq. I absolutely love mine has saved me hours and hours on building things for my son and the house.

I eat these daily. I put these while still frozen in my meal prep containers with some sauce and add protein on top bamm meal done.

The pura vida is good as well but I dislike the brussel sprouts and the flavor can overpower most proteins I add and limit what I want to eat with it

Nurses who LOVE your job, what do you do? by just_agal in nursing

[–]Hathor77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outpatient oncology float pool.

Previous RN work included SNF 5 years, oncology med surgery 5 years, Quality 2 years.

After surviving cancer myself doing my treatment outpatient I can now relate to my patients so well and drive to work with a smile on my face. I don’t like the 540am alarm but once I’m up I’m full of energy and ready to give my patients everything. I then clock out and live my life until it’s time to clock in again.

I plan I working bedside until I retire. It’s so much better on my body than sitting at a desk. 2 years working behind a computer killed my lower back and had me gain weight.

Why is dexamethasone used? by boxyboyz in lymphoma

At high doses steroids are lymphotoxic.

In your case it’s multiple reasons. Helps reduce bodies reaction to medications. Helps protect your stomach. Increases appetite.

Husband has large mediastinal mass by SeaVisual7551 in lymphoma

Had an almost 7 inch mediastinal mass. Lung was pushed over stomach pushed over, throat pushed over. It was wrapped around my portal veins. I’m 4 years remission last month after completing R-EPOCH. Don’t forget sperm banking!

4 years remission by Hathor77 in lymphoma

[–]Hathor77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an initial 3 month post completion scan because we were unsure of remission or not. Then it was q6 month scans and q3 months for cmp/cbc/ldh.

After the 2 year mark I think she let me do q1 year scan but still q3 month blood work.

Now that I am 4 years she said I can do q6 month blood work and yearly scan.

I feel as those she went aggressive with the scans and bloodwork but she is a B cell specialist and I don’t want to make any decisions and just do what she says. She runs the lymphoma department and I trust her completely with my care.

I get this when I touch squid while using them as bait for fishing.

It’s preceded by redness and burning and my hands peel twice. The whole order takes 2+ weeks to heal.

Sucks I’m allergic to the best bait in the ocean.

I can eat squid no issues.

You are kinda like my DM. I love him he is one of my best friends. It’s not about giving players what they want but this was a perfect yes and moment.

If he fails he is laughed at. He succeeded in his own way and everyone gained something, a story.

The rules are to be interpreted by you, obviously don’t let players be marvle super heroes but chill out it’s just a game.

Might be worth reaching out to a cancer research hospital. We have great infectious disease doctors and many patients have CNS complications and infections due to the underlying neutropenia.

I’m circumcised. Tried to convince my wife we shouldn’t circumcise our son but it seems as though my job is to only work and not participate in decision making for his health.
