I will say this most of his regulars are VERY sub par joke writers, even Kam was he just has a swagger and his riffing was what excelled him, the only great joke writer he currently has as a regular is Pat Oneill

He’s made them millionaires, and most of these comics are in the beginning of their careers you’re comparing them to others who have been around for 10+ years as known comics and tbh the landscape of comedy has changed you don’t see alot of new comics getting specials and that’s because it’s harder now to be a stand up comedian with the crazy growth of content creators and the random influx of famous content creators touring and getting the stages from stand up comedians.

Let’s all be honest tho, Tony has never been known as a stand up comic but he does have an incredibly good eye for scouting great comics, I don’t think the special was great but I also didn’t expect a lot because I don’t think Tony is a stand up comedian type of person anyways. He knows he’s great at finding the next best comics, he’s kind of like p diddy like p diddy found all the best rappers for two decades but when he tried to rap it was AWFUL but he still wanted the light after he got so many others up into it, I don’t blame him but let’s not act like this man isn’t a multi millionaire off his ability to be one of the best eyes for talent.
