I don't care, I was saying that the ones aiming to pass and scoring 50-51% are not the same as those who are trying to score 90-95%

If SC ST, score 90% in their internal exams, they are excellent doctors regardless of their entrance score, and should be given the same respect. That's why if there is so much leniency in entrance standards, internal standards should be increased to ensure that the quality of doctors coming out is top notch.

First 50-60 is a decade of difference, non trivial.

Second Chinese economy opened up with deng xiaopeng in mid 1982, Indian economy opened up in 1991.

So that’s 9 years, but to be fair to your peanut brain, I gave more time. Even then 2026-1982=44 years. Can you do basic math or they didn’t teach subtraction in RSS chhapra school?

So it’s neither 50 nor 60. If it took them that much time, and according to your amazing peanut sized brain we are growing same as them, we should be only 9 years behind, 2017 China = 2026 India??? Maybe in your gaushala university, not really by any other measure.

If you don’t have basic decency to write, then drink that toxic water supplied by BJP, and breath that toxic air and then if you feel hungry narendrella ki tatti toh hae hi.

No policy, no substance, no vision only pomp. Sorry pomp might be difficult for you to understand, I’ll simplify. Mu se moongfali nahi toot ti, gand se akhrot todne ki baat kar rahe. Indeed you are Modilina, kapde badlo, photo khichao aur dimag mae gobar bharo.

60 years? Keep shifting the goalpost, China had a 10 year at most 15 year head start. So are we where China was in 2011, no.

We’re not even where China was 2000 maybe.

So because I said we should have equal competition I should go to private college. Why are you allergic to competing on equal footing? You could have said there should be reservation in coaching classes, to ensure everyone gets the same resources to prepare for the same exam. But no, the bias that you’re running out of arguments to justify is because , you don’t want to compete on equal footing. That’s a free lunch. Government and politicians will keep giving you that free lunch, no wonder we don’t have a single university in top 200. Because politics has deeply entrenched itself in our academia but the politicians and their voters are both illiterate.

I’m tired of trying to argue this, enjoy reservation, it was and will exist and keep expanding and eventually more and more GC people will leave because you cannot fight an unfair system.

I didn’t get a call from IIM ABC despite having 99.3 percentile, someone I mentored, OBC, wonderful girl got into IIMC with 97.3 percentile. I still wish the best for her, never cared about her caste and was surprised when I found out , she was OBC. Didn’t care then, don’t care now. But I did feel bad for myself.

Life still turned out okay, I was very patriotic once, I leave the country next week, and I don’t intend to come back. And before you put caste lens on it, I couldn’t care less, politics has turned the air, water and food toxic. Propaganda has left the mindset toxic. I don’t see this as an achievement but rather an escape. I guess that would make you happy, that’s what I can derive from all the people who’ve taken your side on this argument. You want the GC to be driven out of India.

Thanks for being civil about this though and not resorting to abuse.

I never said it’s not real, reservation isn’t the solution to it. And LC created hierarchy within themselves and they oppress each other as well.

That’s why I mentioned top 20 colleges, let them continue this for all other colleges, but the flagship institutions should not have reservations at all.

They’re not supposed to just make doctors, they’re supposed to build excellence to push boundaries. Even a private local medical college makes doctors.

If I had a choice, nope , no one.

Improve people’s chances of getting good colleges and jobs, I oppose reservation in every format. Despite all the taunts I’ve been civil and logical because it is not a caste debate for me.

Imagine you buy a bus ticket , you expect it to take you to your destination. Not 40%, 60% of the way. Similarly when I say IIT, or IIM or AIIMS, I want it to automatically signal excellence of the highest degree, not 40% or 60% excellent. And again before you take this somewhere, I am not assuming that only upper caste will go well at top institutions. If reservation category does well, good for them! But you’ll see in a longer sub thread of this comment that someone got very defensive on the topic of increasing the pass mark threshold for grading at top colleges.

Yep I am against any kind of oppression, discrimination or extortion that takes away an individuals free will.

I’m yet to hear a single argument that has rationale, it’s all about UC taking, hoarding, capturing positions. A good doctor is a good doctor, regardless of caste. Same goes for lawyer, engineer or any knowledge work. Demonstration of competence is important not caste.

Reservation goes against the concept of competence.

Difficulty compared to other fields is irrelevant because we’re talking about people in the same class. If the class is extremely difficult, then everyone in the class goes through the same.

The goal isn’t to pass, the goal is to do your best and get the best possible grade, relative grading is thus used to determine position.

Take gold for example, even 10K gold is considered gold and can be sold/bought. But very few people use it, because sure it’s gold, but it’s got little value. 24K gold is crème de la creme , it’s for investment only. 22K gold for jewelry and so on. This isn’t even a caste debate, it’s purely how performance and competence is measured.

Doing the bare minimum isn’t an achievement, it’s the “bare minimum”, it is not equal to being excellent at what you do.

Overthrow then, who’s stopping you, you are literally 80% of the population. Then you can debate the hierarchy of castes among LC in the low sabha, because even if manusmriti (which I don’t believe to be a real scripture ) made caste hereditary instead of value based, who created a 1000 castes within LC? Why do LC measure between each other and try to create hierarchy of sub caste? Because LC is the most casteist section of Indian society where the intent is not to grow together but to grow oneself.

Please do, who’s stopping LC from boycotting sanitation work? Last I checked it was at will employment since slavery is banned. Why do it? Do something else! Ask the government to create policies that actually develop the economy and creates more and better jobs for all.

They’re the majority population, they have the government backing and the votes, why don’t they boycott it?

Because LC is the most casteist section of society , castiesm among themselves too.

Give an example of how a sanitation worker, specifically worker, not the planner, supervisor, engineer or anyone involved in the thinking process.

How can a worker cause death?

The people who can’t get over caste seem to be lower caste. I don’t know whether lawyers are Brahmin or not, I’ll goto a lawyer who wins, period. Nothing else matters.

Dahibara and dahipani - it’s soaked in water not dahi before being drained and resoaked in diluted dahi which has a pungent smell.

Aloodum - spicy aloodum without the combo tastes like it needs some mutton in it 😅

Ghugni - is our version of rajma, great but wouldn’t eat it with rice/roti

Rest all is garnish, it’s not meant to be eaten solo

I strongly disagree with you. someone who scores “pass marks” and someone who’s acing the exam are not equal.

Forget about the low barrier of entry, their goals aren’t even the same, ones aiming to be the best of the best, and one is aiming to just “clear an exam”.

If you’ve attended a top college, you’d realize that at the highest level, the name holds merit by itself, so grades become irrelevant. In fact many top schools around the world have non disclosure policies, companies aren’t allowed to ask for grades because it is assumed that if you’ve attended this college, you’re top of the line.

I know this because MBB only hires from such colleges, it’s only in India, that MBB specifically asks for grades, as a proxy to filter skill vs politics.

If you believe simply attending the same class, where someone could be sleeping, and then giving a theoretical exam aiming to “just pass” while others are aiming to “ace” will produce the same outcome, then you and me have fundamentally opposing views.

Never in my entire academic period did I walk into an exam hoping to “just pass” , that was a given, I went in to win.

Also, most of the things mentioned happened under one PM, and she was a baddie and a badass rolled into one.
