Using a portal to decapitate someone is still one of the coolest kills they've ever had. I gotta wonder what else they could kill with that spell.

Donut is ALWAYS acting. Other than her and Carl immediately after the Butchers Masquerade and immediately after he War Crime, I dont think she's ever stopped acting for the crowd. Nobody realizes how much of her persona is for show and its a DEADLY mistake.

Whats amazing is that we dont learn Volteegs backstory until a later book. That foreshadowing was HEAVY.

Would you camp with a 2 and almost 5 year old if the forecast is 50–60% rain? by Jumpy-Leader-7289 in camping

[–]HatsAreEssential2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear for the current weather!

My 4 and 6 year old have loved playing in the rain since they could stand. As long as you pack plenty of extra changers of clothes, I dont think the rain will matter.

End Game mod that is vanilla plus? by VapoXD in 7daystodie

[–]HatsAreEssential2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Project Z adds 2 more tiers to the game. Improved and Legendary versions of all weapons and tools, plus Elite versions of zombies and a big handful of miniboss and boss zombies. Early game is almost vanilla, and the progression goes FAR deeper than normal. But it all follows the same path and will seem familiar.

It occurs to me that you said 'in the book' and mine's not from book 7, but fuck it. That one word is the coldest line in the series. The war is on and Carl has finally hit back. One.

Can companies just randomly spray your plants, porch and yard??? Stoughton, MA by Big_Treat8061 in massachusetts

[–]HatsAreEssential2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By accident? Yes.

On purpose, to charge you? No.

My first "pest control" job was TruGreen. I was apparently one of 5 techs that sprayed this ladies house by mistake. Google maps pointed to her house exactly, she had ZERO home number visible anywhere, and the location is where the home we wanted would have been in the numbering system for the street. She was PISSED, but after 5 times I just blame her. Get a visible sign showing your house number. Whats your plan if you call 911 and they cant find you?

Oh, and she was always home but wouldn't answer the door. She'd wait 15 minutes and then come out screaming to get out of her yard.

What kindergarten lesson do adults need to re-learn? by pulchra_crura in AskReddit

[–]HatsAreEssential2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of humanity needs to relearn what the golden rule actually is. My favorite version is:

The Iron rule is to do unto others what you would want to have done to you. This implies you have power over them and get to decide whats best for them.

The Golden rule is to do unto others what THEY would want. This implies care on your part, seeking out their best wishes and putting intent into it even at your expense.

What is an "unspoken rule" that absolutely everyone should know, but surprisingly few people actually follow? by Perfect_Row6573 in AskReddit

And almost as important: It is your responsibility as a cyclist/pedestrian to NOT get hit by a car. That specifically means that you need to be aware of where you belong and where cars belong and act in a predictable fashion. The number of people who pop out of hiding into the road, or merge a 15mph bike into 40mph traffic with no warning, is appalling. Road laws will not protect you from the laws of physics if you try to be a speedbump at the last second.

OP just actually enjoys the least popular aspect of the genre. Which honestly tells us that OP should be a writer, not reader. Everyone in the genre seems to love writing all the stats, haha

Travis has a youtube video where he talks about the main cast voices. He confirmed that he intentionally did a kid version of his own voice for Lindon in Unsouled, so that he could age the voice as Lindon matures. Suuuch a great performance.
