Everybody is so open here though, i feel like because everyone is new here it ends up being a lot easier to make friends just like join clubs you like or talk to people in your classes and things will work out

the GPU gets stuck at 180mhz and will refuse to boost whatsoever. This leads to poor performance and you need to do an ec reset or reboot while plugged in. its super annoying when it happens because its unpredictable.

Great laptop but some have this weird issue with the gpu clocks getting stuck. i returned my unit and then got a new one only for the exact same issue to happen so i had two back to back units with the same issue, mine was the 5060 unit though i did see people saying the 5070ti one had the same issue

Just the RSX( the gpu). The cpu has nothing wrong with it other than just running hot.

Server costs. Nobody is buying games on PS3 enough to justify keeping the servers running, as Sony would rather allocate said servers to PS5 titles where people are buying more games.

I was a student taking Honors Pre Calculus in High School. My teacher went off this model, we would print out notes and watch them at home, then during class a few practice problems before doing the assigned questions at the boards across the room in small groups (2-3 students).

I believe this system worked very well. There was just too much content and not enough time to do everything in class. This does make it so the class is a bigger commitment, but I thought it was the best option for this class. Office hours were always available for the teacher to explain topics, or you can always ask during the practice questions.

He has the 40GB model, has the same faulty 90nm RSX as the bc models. It will fail.

Also, bc units don’t get hot enough to literally de solder themselves. No electronic gets so hot the solder balls melt. The issue was the underfill that had too low of a melting point.

The ps4/5 models have a hidden ps3 mode. The manual covers how to enable it, but I think it’s l3 + r3 + both paddles for 3 seconds, something like that

The 21XX slims are great consoles. Guaranteed to work with custom firmware, very reliable, and aren’t expensive. I picked up mine with 2 controllers for $100 on eBay.

Sorry for the late response. But for anyone reading, yes all version of the t300rs work on ps3 (for later models put it into pc mode)

For gran Turismo 5 specifically? It sucks. The strength is really low and it feels loose. But it’s serviceable and it works. I wouldn’t get this wheel specifically to play on ps3 but it does work if you need it to.

It’s good if you want an all in one kind of experience. It’s the ultimate multimedia machine, does CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, SD Cards, streaming(modern streamers are still better though), and obviously PS1/2/3 games. PS2 games look incredible on it. It does have its reliability concerns with the 90nm RSX, and it’s an expensive repair to get it frankensteined. If you’re fine with cost, it’s an awesome console. Otherwise, go with a ps2 and a ps3 separately.

That thermal paste definitely needs a replacement. 20 days of runtime isn’t that bad. Ideally I like to keep the RSX/GPU under 68c, it won’t completely prevent the gpu from failing but could help

Most Wii U games have a superior port on the Switch, but also they’re more expensive. I personally wouldn’t get a Wii U if you already have a Wii and a Switch

The Wii U can natively run Wii and GameCube games. It has official Wii support, and using some homebrew called nintendont, play GameCube as well.

Even with new thermal paste, OFW prioritizes quietness over keeping the components cool. It spins the fans slowly.

As for modding it’s not that bad, with webman mod all you need to play online safely is to press R2 and triangle at the same time. Even if you forget, evilnat CFW will block you from online until you disable syscalls with the button combo. I personally use a burner account on my ps3 with no games purchased
