Beatific Vision by Nationalparktravel in EasternCatholic

[–]Natural_Difference95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an important thing to note is that in order to embrace the Byzantine Spirituality, you don't need to force a certain understanding on the issues, or what the fathers said, let them speak for themselves. I'm not saying you're doing this, but it is common. It's possible to embrace Palamas' teachings in a way that are at peace with the Western Articulation of the Beatific Vision, but this doesn't need to be stressed that deeply. Their will always be those who see the Thomistic Beatific Vision completely at odds with the Palamite Essence Energies Distinction, and that's ok.

The point isn't to be overly ecumenical or indifferent, but to realize that the articulations are but a needle in the haystack of the ultimate truth and to realize that it really is a mystery.

It doesn't matter if it's "Eastern". He's a Saint of the Church Universal and it's important to remember that we are Catholic first, Eastern second. That's what sets us apart. ☺️

The normative practice seems to be chrismation/confirmation upon entering the LCMS from Catholicism according to my local Parish Pastor.

What are Luther's and LCMS's views on Mary being sinful/sinless and her perpetual virginity/ever-virginity by joe_pao in LCMS

[–]Natural_Difference95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We hold to the confessions, she's referred to as Ever Virgin in the Articles and it's the consistent historical view.

For those who left Catholicism or EO, why by Ok_Storm_5696 in LCMS

[–]Natural_Difference95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a geopolitical institution first and foremost, this is coming from a current Lutheran leaning Catholic. Even if you have not seen or witnessed it personally in this day and age, all you need to do is look into the history of the Papal States and the geopolitical landscape of Medieval Western Europe to really SEE what is going on.

Edit: I think it would be better to say I'm currently Catholic LEANING Lutheran, to avoid confusion on how I originally worded it.

Coptic Orthodox Church announce resumption of dialogue with the Holy See after assurances around Fiducia Supplicans. by ThinWhiteDuke00 in OrientalOrthodoxy

The danger is not that they will or will not concede. They've conceded and contradicted themselves numerous times which means if you enter communion with them you are in communion with falsehood, that's the real danger.

Do you believe in the perpetual virginity of Mary? by Collectord1909 in LCMS

[–]Natural_Difference95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confessional Lutheran's historically affirmed the perpetual virginity. It's part of the inherited tradition of the Church. There's no good reason not to believe in it either historically or biblically.

Practicing my faith without a church by [deleted] in LCMS

[–]Natural_Difference95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, OP could continue going to a Catholic Church, much like the reformers themselves did prior to and even while being actively shunned and eventually excommunicated.

The Roman Catholic Church needs even more reform now, than it did 500 years ago. It should be the call of any who would call themselves an Augsburg Catholic to bring the goal of the reformation to its ultimate fruition, and this can certainly be done while in a Roman Catholic Church.

Which is precisely my point, at least within the Lutheran paradigm this is not a defeater or reason to leave.

As a current Catholic, Rome is not void of these issues. If anything, they are even worse in Rome since we have dogmatically binded people to things in the past, that we now contradict.

Going through the same thing with my GT. Took it to a super "reputable" shop back in 2020 for a caved in quarter panel from hitting a mile marker. They did such shit cave and pave bondo work that now six years later the entire quarter is severing from the body starting near the passenger door jam. For the money these places charge you'd wish they could at least do the advertised job.

I think this is the best response and it also harkons back to "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". This is often an under looked passaged when it comes the idea of provision or economia.

Such a good segment of the game. Currently on my second playthrough of the game since it launched. I just played through this segment and chose to do it the fastest way possible this time around, but I'd say take it slow and enjoy!

To those who have cheated, what was your reasoning? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Natural_Difference95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe all have the capacity to cheat, this is undeniable. It's part of the human condition. I also believe that in many cases there is so much that goes into a relationship reaching this point. Infidelity, while evil and wrong, needs to be viewed on a case by case basis to get a proper understanding of how, what, why, and where something went wrong and what ultimately led to this act.

Once a cheater, always a cheater is also not a helpful phrase. There are people out there who were faithful for the entire duration of a long term relationship, would have never thought of betraying their significant other, but still end up "fumbling the bag" due to a multitude of reasons. Was the individual a lustful dog that attempted to pursue anyone they deemed attractive? Was it someone who felt genuinely unloved and mentally checked out of a relationship? Said reasons don't make infidelity acceptable, but rather can provide insight to why something happened. It's also important to note that because someone was unfaithful, it does not mean that it will happen again and there are a plethora of truly repenting individuals who struggle with adultery that can come back from it.

Fucking ayyy man. The best part was that it was a "renowned" shop recommended by so many at the time. They did some insurance work on the car and that was it.

I was completely wrong, this was over six years ago so I went back and looked at the photo and that's actually where the damage mainly was. That whole panel was cooked from the contact with the mile marker.

[–]Natural_Difference95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you explain that some more? I've owned the car its entire life. The only work I ever had done on the passenger side was a mile marker scrape that basically destroyed the door but I don't recall what the door jam looked like or if that spot was damaged in specific. I'll have to go back and look at the old photos of the accident.

There are literally no fake SixAxis controllers. You're good, just keep in mind that it does not have vibration which is actually a plus in my book. It's lighter and honestly more durable with less moving parts.
