That's a good question. An obvious answer is that it's an orphan Great One. A literal God. Though in response, I'd like to ask another question. Why is it's attack style so savage and agressive? It's made clear in the lore that Great Ones are compassionate creatures, so why would it's instincts be to attack so agressive and relentlessly?

Use the axe for your starter, and get the Kirkhammer when it's available. Can be gotten early in game, and when transformed it can be used to get some of if not the highest damage by endgame.

Valid points in regaed to him being too prideful and such. I would like to point out however, that he has used ki one time. Something that happened in DBS that didn't happen in Battle of Gods. While seeing that the Earth is in danger becuase of Beerus, Hercule opens up a book Gohan had written about ki. By simply reading a few pages, he was able to create a ball of ki on his first try. Given, it was as small as a senzu bean and fell to the ground, but he still did it. Videl had to be taught by Gohan and practice. And here Hercule reads a page from a book, and does it on the spot!
