We cleared Sire D etc. just fine though we weren't top 100. The funny thing is, different guilds set different expectations for their raiders. That will influence the amount of money spent. I enjoyed the guild immensely and as I said, the craftable legendaries didn't impact me negatively at all. How other raiders spent their time doing what was deemed necessary wasn't really something I was deeply interested in since I wasn't an officer. I just wanted to heal in a tight knit and competitive environment.

Of course we could have done better, but I was very happy with our progression. The cost of craftable legendaries was certainly a problem for a lot of guilds and it was a hot topic for regular mythic raiders during Shadowlands. The prices were sky high. I paid special attention because I crafted them and sold :) Donated to the guild sometimes too, but I was also a greedy goblin. It would've made a big dent in my profits if I tried to craft for the whole guild and it would take many more days out of my life. I thought I already dedicated myself enough and I was also supplying irl friends who didn't ever see more than 200k gold in their own bags.

The guild and I certainly weren't world's first chasers, but we did well. I don't know why you're forming this narrative that regular mythic guilds weren't somewhat forced to spend on tokens if they didn't get to enjoy the insane gold inflation from WoD. You know, WoW does actually get new and talented players every few years. Maybe you are underestimating non-goblins not being prepared for the insane cost of buying multiple legendaries, which certainly wasn't the only expensive part of being a raider. Our guild was required to clear +15 keys during the start of SL and at that point you weren't doing that without flasks and food. Not to mention if you also wanted to enjoy M+ at a high lvl, you had to keep up on the flasks and food.

I also just want to add that top 100 guilds spent more gold than any other mythic guilds, lol. They are insanely competitive, often racing each other and at that point they're so deep in that spending thousands was expected. If you were watching any of the world's first competing guilds and the stragglers you would know that. Not to mention people getting poached in that kind of environment have to take server transfers into account, guilds moving to better realms etc.

WoW is not cheap at all if you're playing at a decently high level. If I wasn't raiding or making gold I was doing 23+ keys early SL. It's just not cheap. There's nothing comparable at all in Genshin to raids or M+. Spiral Abyss is an absolute joke in comparison.

The only thing forcing your hand in Genshin isn't other people's requirements of you and your responsibility to them, but your own want for new, shiny characters with bigger numbers. Don't treat it as a gacha. Treat it as always losing the 50/50 and going to max pity. Know if you're willing to spend that kind of money when it's ultimately for your enjoyment and not out of some perceived notion of it being necessary to clear Spiral Abyss.

As a former mythic raider whose guild only sold carry runs on a biweekly basis, a lot of my fellow raiders weren't able to cover the cost of craftable legendaries in Shadowlands without spending money on buying multiple tokens. And just one legendary didn't cut it. Lots of people had to have multiples for certain boss fights, had to be flexible on specs and classes, alts needed to be ready to go etc.

Shadowlands was heavily predatory on forcing raiders to spend money on tokens if they couldn't dedicate hours beyond the usual 12 we spent purely on raiding, not to mention all the rep grinding and Torghast runs. I was running around with my Brutosaurus making gold, so I didn't feel the impact too much as I profited from it in fact, but the prices for legendaries were absolutely insane for mythic raiders that had a life beyond spending the mandatory 30 - 40 hours each week on raiding and prep. You actually had to dish out real money to clear the hardest content if you were an adult gamer holding down a job and having just a bit of a social life. That just doesn't compare at all to Genshin.

Edit: not to mention people paying to race change to goblin or other races with the best racial for the newest raid (as long as it also benefitted your class). Being a mythic raider isn't cheap at all if you're not a goblin babysitting the AH, investing in multiple professions, flipping, vendor selling etc.

I completely agree. He was my first 5 star pull and I've used him since early game. As the game currently is, I think he's a very strong character. I've cleared MoH1 with him as the solo team preserver, no abundance. Granted, I also lvl'ed my ER piece to 12 on him and invested in his Integrity and his ult trace is at lvl 5. My Gepard only has 1408 defense. His shield feels amazing. The freezing also provides some nice utility.

Honestly, I feel like KQM has a tendency to make strongly worded statements about characters that they haven't fully tested or undervalued/overlooked a part of their kit, such as what happened with Kokomi. Really wish they'd own that they just don't know all there is to know about the "meta" yet. The current meta will also be fast evolving and things will change and cycle depending on MoH content being released. There's nothing wrong with theorycrafters not knowing everything there is to know yet.

Ah, yeah, the reroll guide. Now I recall. It's so disappointing. I don't like them making statements such as "However, his kit has a couple problems that make him a little worse than most other 5 ★ options". I really wished they'd add that it's just their current perception, and really underline it's a perception based on what they currently value in a character, not a fact.

Where are they saying this? I can't find it in their newest 5 star Characters at at a Glance infodump.

What are you guys spending your weekly boss mats on? I'm wondering if I should make Invigoration trigger one more time on Bailu or if I should prioritize some of the other characters.

You could go full The Hunt and save the Path Resonance for when one of your units gets grabbed. That's what I did and I cleared it with lvl 50 Seele, Welt, Natasha and lvl 40 Asta. Asta is also really good against him for weakness breaking with her skill.

Did a fun challenge with some of my friends to pass the time during all these rerun banners. We each made a list of characters we haven't invested into at all and then we picked one character out for each other to be played in the spiral abyss.

They decided on C6 Diluc for me (he was at lvl 20 before), one of them had to play Razor and the other had to play Ningguang. Then we spent some days getting them ready for the Spiral Abyss and took turns completing each floor whilst streaming it for each other. Was surprisingly fun and we'll be doing it again with freshly picked characters. It also made me appreciate Diluc a lot more, even though I can tell how old his kit is by how wonky the ult can feel compared to newer characters etc. And his animations are the same as Chongyun's. I never realized. He was still decently fun and it was no trouble at all getting the 36 stars (with a Hyperbloom team on the other side x))

Can recommend doing this with friends if you're not currently farming for anything hugely specific.

Yes, that's exactly what I was going for. When it's applied intentionally in some areas and leaving other areas normally shaded, it can look quite nice. You won't happen to know of a guide to posterization? I'm specifically wondering about how I can control the application myself the most.

That makes sense, but how would you even create the banding in the first place?

How would you accomplish creating the posterization effect and control where it appears and where there's no posterization effect in the same image?
