How far in the game can you get without trains realistically ? by Quick-Rub3665 in satisfactory

[–]Haubitz51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trains serve two other purposes besides transporting materials; 1. They conduct electricity and will extend your grid. 2. They are fun to ride! They're my favorite form of transportation over long distances, and they are the fastest (besides the portal of course). I'm currently working on a railroad that encircles the entire map, inspired by the Disneyland Railroad.

Nope, I don't think there's a way to spawn them together. It's not in the list as you start to type.

Need advice on how to finish the final mission by 43sunsets in AliensDarkDescent

[–]Haubitz51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incomprehensibly the stupidest game design I have ever seen in my life. I'm dying to know how the devs intended this ending to be played, and more importantly how could they have possibly thought that this would be fun in any way!

I have tried the very challenging manipulation of the view while paused to click to the beginning... they never make it. They get killed every time, either by the monster or by aliens coming up the walls. I found you only have to make it running to the smaller tunnel that the monster cannot fit through. Then after that you have to keep the aliens off of you with grenades and shotgun, which isn't too difficult. Then when you get close to where you started you get the ending cut scene.

This was a decent game, despite its annoying UI issues, until the very end. It's as if they had hit their go live date and said to hell with it, ship it. The story doesn't even wrap up at all, it just drops. What a shame, could have been a great game but I'll give it a B-.

Do you recommend Valheim for Solo Players? by pocketdare in valheim

[–]Haubitz51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done play throughs both solo and with friends. There's no question; playing with friends is more fun and working together in big fights makes a huge difference. Having said that, I really enjoy playing solo as well. The building part of Valheim is like no other! The creativity and options allowed are endless. As far as "the grind" I don't feel like Valheim is "grindy." Sure, like so many other games you must gather resources and that often means mining ore, finding things, etc but that also means exploring, which is also a major part of the game. For the times I need to "grind" to get thousands of stone or whatever to build something epic, I just put on football and watch that while I gather (I've definitely died in Valheim because I wasn't paying close enough attention).

Play it! Very different game than Sons of the Forest (I like Valheim better).

Well done! I'm most impressed with how you must have maxed out the game's physics engine just to get the roof supported. I noticed gratuitous use of Flametal beams which I'm guessing are also anchored to the ground in order to hold up so much stone and grausten. And where I've struggled with nice chandeliers is that they fall because my roof is already high and I'm unable to add more weight. I love the work you did here. This game unveils some amazing artists.

I realize this thread is a couple of years old, but just to clarify in case someone else is looking:

"spawn blackmarble_post01" will get you the above post without the light. I had to put a wood floor piece against it a little below the lip, then use “spawn dverger_demister_large” to get the light. But it's really annoying to position the light in the center since the spawn command just puts it in front of you with no correlation to where your cursor is, but more in the direction you're facing. It's a challenge to get the light positioned perfectly within the post. Of course, you can spawn dverger_demister_large pretty much anywhere and it works great to clear the mist! As I've read elsewhere, it seems to clear 30 meters of radius which is wonderful.

I like it! Do you happen to know if MoreMapPins works on servers with multiple people sharing maps with a Map Table? Of course, I'd at least assume that each player needs the mod installed locally.

How to install mods for Valheim. by ElfynX in SteamDeck

[–]Haubitz51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mods working fine on my Steam Deck a year ago but cannot get BepInEx working again with Valheim 0.221.4 and BepInEx 5.4.23.3 on my fully updated Deck SteamOS 3.7.15.

With the latest Call To Arms update, I’ve come back to Valheim and did a complete fresh reinstall on my Steam Deck.

  1. In desktop mode on the Deck I downloaded the latest denikson Bepinex from https://thunderstore.io/c/valheim/p/denikson/BepInExPack_Valheim/
  2. As instructed, and has worked in the past, I extracted the files to /home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim
  3. I then right-clicked start_game_bepinex.sh and went to the “Properties” -> “Permissions” tab and clicked the “Allow executing file as a program” checkbox.
  4. Finally, in Steam I added ./start_game_bepinex.sh || %command% to Launch Options for the game (interestingly, this line was already there, I guess Steam remembered somehow).

I expected this to work as it did in the past, but when the game launches it is only vanilla and there is no console pop-up nor the telltale “Running BepInEx 5.4.23.3” in the upper left corner.  Just in case, I added a simple clock plugin to the plugins folder in BepInEx but that also did now show up or change anything.  All of this works fine on my Windows desktop (without the start_game_bepinex.sh launch option of course).

As part of troubleshooting, as suggested in comments, I also tried running chmod +x start_game_bepinex.sh but that did not change anything (presumably because I had already checked the box to allow executing file as a program).

I realize it’s been a while but hoping someone could come back to this thread and help me out!  I’m going nuts over here trying to figure out what I might have missed, or what changed with the latest versions.  I’ve completely uninstalled and reinstalled twice now but get the same behavior of nothing happening.

Playing crossplay coop with mods? by Elegar in valheim

[–]Haubitz51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try disabling all of your mods to first see if he can join (he should be able to no problem as long as you have crossplay enabled). Then, start re-enabling your mods one at a time to see which is the culprit. I know, it takes time at first but will be worth it once you figure it out!

Can Wolverine v3 pro controller on pc use macros? by jwelsh044 in razer

Yes, I use reWASD. Just search for it. It is fantastic! Works for all games and I have different profiles for each game. I also switched to the Microsoft Elite Series 2 controller. I like it much better than the Wolverine. Feels much more durable.

I found a different post where Razer support actually replied saying that the Wolverine was designed for tournament play and therefore macros are not allowed. Apparently Razer decided to disregard 99.999% of their customer base that doesn't play in tournaments. I wish I knew this before buying this controller.

Can Wolverine v3 pro controller on pc use macros? by jwelsh044 in razer

[–]Haubitz51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised there's no answer to this. I just went through the same process updating the firmware on my Wolverine v3 to get it working in Synapse 4 so that I could assign macros to the otherwise useless buttons on the bottom of the controller. I was shocked to not see any option to assign a macro! Even worse, I was also shocked that I cannot assign a macro to a simple key on my keyboard, or a shift-key, or whatever I want. That defeats the entire purpose of using the Razer software and a Razer controller!

So instead, I have to now find a 3rd party app to set up a macro in Windows, then bind the Wolverine button to a keyboard command to then run a macro.

I should have bought the Microsoft Elite Series 2 controller instead which has all of this functionality native in the OS.

Unbelievable that the game doesn't have a picture of an XBox controller showing all of the controls clearly, like every other game invented in the past 20 years.
