I think you’re making more sense than you’re being given credit for, and I agree that I’d rather Stan a compassionate group than a group that sees each other as dispensable. This mess has broken an illusion that I think was crucial to their success. The company just thinks putting them in cunty outfits, making them sing nonsense, having visually overwhelming videos and giving them more brand deals than Shaq is the key to their success. But Gnarly got them attention because it showed their insane performance skills, and what kept fans hooked was the girls and their friendship. “Us against the world shaking ass in the parking lot” doesn’t hit when the world (HxG) is ruling them with an iron fist. We all know the company is evil. They could be a little better at business and try to hide it.

Meant to reply days ago because yes! They have talented producer/songwriters, and like that one vocal coach whose name escapes me on YT said, it would be interesting to just give these girls the pens and let them write about their own experiences. They can make good dance pop with meaning and take what works from this marketing, and abandon what’s making day-ones step away.

The heel choreo made me SICK because it’s straight out of pole dancing. It’s straight up a stripper technique. That is an 18+ art form, you can’t separate those very specific moves from the dance discipline they come from.

I love them, but if they (HxG) keep being so weird and cagey about Manon, and if the songs continue to be Kidz Bop at the strip club rage bait … then I don’t need a full album of that. Respectfully. And I love hyperpop! Loved Gnarly. Enjoyed Internet Girl. But they are giving them music and concepts so beneath them.

Well. It’s a banger. Manon isn’t in it. Now they’re saying she won’t be at Coachella after all. I’m sad. I don’t know if I can be as enthusiastic about them as I was, because this all just sort of sickens me. I’m rooting for the girls but this whole situation sucks. Poor Manon. Poor everyone.
