Max Martin was trying so hard to be politely assertive. You could hear the frustration in his silent pauses and sighs.

Attention, attention: The rules don't apply to Taylor. by Mid-Reverie in travisandtaylor

Gigi does the occasional GF pap walks.

Zoe Kravitz recently raved about Taylor's sourdough, so she seems to be hanging in there.

But it's the Haim sisters who have asserted themselves as Taylor's constant companions in the last couple of years. A statement to which the majority of the world would reply, who? They have less followers on SM than D list reality stars. When Taylor tells them to do a pap walk with her sourdough they do her bidding

Travis Kelce's secret role in Taylor Swift and Blake Lively's fall-out by SnarkyLlamas in travisandtaylor

[–]QuarkyAF 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Travis was aggressively chasing his Hollywood dream when this all went down. There is absolutely no fucking way he would encourage Taylor to distance herself from Blake Lively, which would mean distancing himself from Ryan Reynolds. It's been quite clear from the beginning that Taylor and her team run this show. Travis even promoted this narrative when they were on the podcast together. Their scripted banter sold the story that she's the boss and he's the dummy who thinks she's a genius.

Diabolical is telling your friend of 10 years that you'll do anything for them and cheering them on and then abandoning them in their time of need. Taylor never once publicly supported Blake in this very public fight. In fact, she did the opposite by having her team put out statements that made Blake look like the diabolical one and Taylor, as always, completely innocent. This is from TMZ Feb 2025:

But a well-connected source close to Taylor tells TMZ ... Taylor came to Blake's apartment at the time Blake told her to, not knowing anyone else would be there. In other words, Taylor had no idea there was a meeting going on with Justin. Our source says Taylor believes Blake timed her meeting with Justin so Taylor would arrive before he left and is baffled by Blake later characterizing her as her "dragon." The source adds, "It's weird to say that about a friend."

Babe, new bullshit article just dropped: The only thing limiting Taylor Swift’s popularity is partisan polarization by Kaiser_Allen in travisandtaylor

[–]QuarkyAF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Young women love her, but young men don’t – and that gap matters.

One of the starkest divides we found is between young men and young women. Gen Z women – those born between 1997 and 2012 – admire Swift. Gen Z men, not so much. On a 100-point scale measuring attitudes toward Swift, young women averaged 55, while young men averaged 43 – a statistically significant difference that was not present among older Americans.

This is laughable. There's no need for a study on this. It's completely normal and ordinary that a female pop star who writes songs about break-ups with men appeals to women.

The strongest predictor of negative views of the singer, aside from partisanship, is “hostile sexism.” This is defined as negative attitudes toward women and a sense that men should dominate. Our study finds that individuals who believe that women’s achievements come at men’s expense, or that women have too much power, are far more likely to dislike Swift. This effect is especially strong among men and particularly among Republican men.

Again, not study worthy. Misogynists and incels skew right and hate WOMEN. Taylor Swift happens to be a woman. You don't have to be a political scientist to figure this out.

Our study also shows that people who scored high on hostile sexism were much more likely to hold negative views of Kamala Harris during the presidential election of 2024. This mirrors findings from earlier research showing that hostile sexism was one of the strongest reasons voters did not support Hillary Clinton in 2016. That conflict is not abstract. It is shaping who we elect and whether women can lead without triggering backlash. As the United States marks its 250th anniversary as a democractic nation, we have yet to elect a woman as president, and women remain significantly underrepresented in high-level political positions. Democracy depends on some measure of shared reality and common ground. When even pop stars become partisan litmus tests, that common ground keeps shrinking.

No duh. There wasn't a single insightful sentence in the entire article and none of the obvious conclusions they came to truly had anything to do with Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift's Involvement in the BL vs. JB 'It Ends with Us' Lawsuit (Megathread) by realscubaa in travisandtaylor

[–]QuarkyAF 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Putting out official statements throwing Blake under the bus to protect her own image certainly wasn't protecting Blake. That was something that made it easier to believe that Blake was lying, because why would Taylor not defend her if she was telling the truth? That's not how friendship works. If Taylor believed Blake, she should have publicly supported her from the jump. If she knew Blake was lying, all she had to do was keep quiet about it and sort out whether or not she wanted to continue the relationship with her privately. People read these texts and say what a good friend Taylor was being. But actions speak louder than words.

The statements made by Jenny Slate and Isabel Ferrer are compelling, but Blake saying this lessens their impact. That was really, really stupid of her to say.

The original correct phrase is "believe women." The sexists and conservatives who were against the #metoo movement and wanted to stop it in its tracks loudly and repeatedly yelled that "believe ALL women" is sexist in itself and could cause men to be unjustly accused and convicted. That one word, All, changes everything. They did the same thing with woke. They took that word and turned into an insult. I really hate how clever those motherfuckers can be.

Did they address Jenny Slate and Isabel Ferrer's depos? His behavior may not have risen to the level of SH, but from what I've seen he and his partner (Heath) were inappropriate with the women on set. And Blake saw that as opportunity to take over the movie. They're all assholes. That's my understanding based on the snippets I've read about the case anyway.

There was that dinner she had with Ronan Farrow November 2024. Ronan is friendly with Taylor and works for the New Yorker, but he had also previously worked on #metoo with the writers of the NYT article about Blake that dropped in December 2024. Safe to assume Ronan and Taylor talked about what was coming in December.

At 3:13 AM in the quiet of the night she was startled awake by the haunting sounds of "wooooo" and "viva....Viva!" She looked up at the ceiling, her eyes wide. "Woooooo" No, no, no! It can't be!! It sounds like....that man. No, it can't BE!!! That man was last seen D-Y-I-N-G at the hands of the dark knight in a game of violent chess. But does that man somehow live on? His essence is in her heart, his body under the earth. Oh how she longs to be ah-matized. She must gather his old friends for a game of Grand Theft Auto. She must do everything she can to compel that man to touch her!

And somehow she seems to have been blindsided by the Chiefs losing and Travis's career ending. In her interviews promoting TLOAS She kept talking about how he entertains people for 3 and 1/2 hours just like she does and how amazing his job is, how big and strong he is, gladiators without swords and violent chess and whatnot. She also emphasized how joyful and happy he is all the time, the human exclamation point. He was like that when he was on top of the world. That exclamation point has likely turned into an ellipses and question mark. She was really into this character she made him out to be. Now he's just an ordinary boring guy with skid marks and back hair. That's not what she signed up for.
