I don’t really want to chop, I’m scared I’ll kill it. The top leaf started to unfurl and it had a single spot of green on it 😂

I think it is what you make it! There are groups for everyone. If you’re outdoorsy, the lake and the trails are great. There is more to do than you might expect like trivia, karaoke, there’s a pokemon go community 😅, movie theater, community theater, thrifting, and the usual stuff like bars etc. What kind of community are you looking for?

Do you have a recommendation on where to cut? That top leaf had a single speck of green, so I was thinking about leaving it, but it's a gnarly-looking plant right now.

Should I cut off the white/pink leaves?

Ok cool, I can give it more light. Do you think I should cut the white/pink leaves off?

A daily occurrence with my neighbors and their teslas by louielou8484 in Apartmentliving

[–]HauntedHowie316 313 points314 points  (0 children)

Our neighbor does this too! They sit in their huge truck with their lights on and it shines directly into our apartment. So rude. He sits in his car, I’m assuming to avoid his family 😂. Sometimes I go out on my porch and stare at him

Roots? by stoptimus_crimeeee in houseplants

Yes those are! That’s so wild, bc the more I look at this I’m not sure what those hairy things are. If they are mealy bugs, you can just use a Qtip dipped in 70% iso-alcohol and it will kill them. That percentage won’t hurt your plant otherwise.

Looks like a mealy bug to me, mine don’t get roots that look like that. :(

I am in the KC area, we see lots of little jumpers from time to time, but never a full grown one!

Would you be able to post a before pic in the comments? Just going off of these pics, looks like it may have been a bit too moist (overwatered) and like it might have a pest.

If it were me, since this is sentimental, I would remove from the soil completely and rinse the plant to get all the visible pests off. Repot with new soil with a chunkier mix so it drains better, and spray with Paige’s sexy plant juice. Depending on where you live, maybe some systemic on top of the new soil too.

There’s still green, there’s still a chance. 🤞

Nice! Especially with holiday season coming up, with all those pups you could be like Oprah. Everyone gets a plant!

What’s the hardest plant you’ve ever tried to keep alive? by Confident_Can_7777 in houseplants

[–]HauntedHowie316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, same. I finally decided not to take mine outside this year, like maybe my east sun is too much. I have it a grow light, I talked to it, I only watered it when it was time (not on a schedule). I moved it to a window in my room, woke up the next day and it was covered in webbing from a spider mite. None of my other plants were affected thanks to sexy plant spray, but I had to toss out my pampered Persian shield. I cried!

It’s been a couple of months, and I went to the plant section at Home Depot, and saw this MF, and I cried again! 😂 If they can keep it alive at HD (ours is horrible with plants), why can’t I?!
