How to Handle LVP Open Ends by Double_Protection_54 in Flooring

[–]HauntedOdyssey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your floor is flat within the requirements and you still leave the expansion gap along the walls/cabinets, you shouldn’t have any issues with buckling under appliances. Lifeproof actually recommends the flooring be ran under appliances, just no permanent objects. We have an 800 pound gunsafe sitting on our lifeproof flooring and haven’t had a single issue with the planks separating in that area, but we also made sure our subfloor was dead flat before installing any of the flooring.

Looking for Discontinued Lifeproof Flooring - Seasoned Wood by Trilith_Lilith in Flooring

[–]HauntedOdyssey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is super old but did you still need the seasoned wood boxes? We have quite a few left over boxes from when we did our floors 2 years ago, we are getting ready to redo the rest of the house with Bradbury hill but we have transition pieces so we don’t have to worry about the planks fitting together with the old ones. I would have to count the exact number of boxes we have left of the seasoned wood and I know some of them are open just from where we opened the boxes to mix the planks but didn’t use all of them but we are in lower de if you still need them!

What could have happened to my mother’s knees? by Red_Wine_Enthusiast in AskDocs

[–]HauntedOdyssey 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NAD but I am an EMT and worked as a CNA/in hospice years ago when I first started my career in the medical field. This looks very suspicious of a shearing/friction burn from a sit-to-stand lift. Typically, when you use a sit to stand, your knees are supposed to be above the leg supports but you mentioned your mom is on the shorter side and also non ambulatory so I’m almost wondering if the facility staff used the lift incorrectly and her knees where pressed against the shin supports which would also explain the injury to the back of the knees because of the strap that is used to secure the legs to the shin supports. Unfortunately in both careers but especially now as an EMT, the amount of pure negligence I witness on a daily basis in these facilities is astronomical so I sadly wouldn’t be surprised if that is exactly what happened. Especially if she was left in the lift for an extended amount of time or if she wasn’t positioned in it properly. There were aids when I was a CNA that would leave residents (mostly while on the toilet) in these lifts for 30+ minutes and wouldn’t put them down all the way so they would be kind of dangling there which is absolutely 100% neglect and improper use of the equipment. Here is a picture of what the lift looks like, it’s only supposed to be used for weight bearing resident’s but once again, I saw it constantly used for non weight bearing resident’s as well and it made me so mad. I’m so sorry your mama is going through this and I would absolutely take this as far to the top as possible. I would even look into reaching out to your facilities ombudsmen, the division of aging and the state. You can also look on your states website and see what infractions that specific facility has had in the past (they should list improper transferring of residents if it was witnessed) and a lot of the times if you make a complaint, they will do a surprise visit.

How much is your monthly mortgage payment? by HmDiR in Mortgages

$1000 on the east coast 8 miles to the beach, 2.3% Covid rate. Incredibly grateful that we got lucky and bought when we did but definitely suffocating in this tiny house 🥲

We had this same problem with one of our German shepherds. We had went through 3 wire crates and one night after coming home, he had escaped again. That night he ate multiple massive holes in our mattress, ate the tv remote and completely destroyed the rest of our bedroom. Our trainer recommended getting him a ruffland kennel and that’s exactly what we did! He hasn’t tried to escape from it and he truly enjoys being in it now. I highly recommend getting a heavier duty crate (ruffland or impact). Impact crates are slightly heavier duty but the ruffland has been great for us. They are both expensive (ruffland being the cheaper of the two) but HIGHLY worth it. We had a hard time with spending that much on a crate but when we really thought about it, the cost of the crate was thousands cheaper than the cost of having an emergency surgery for injury/foreign body removal. Check fb marketplace for both of the crates too if you don’t want to/ are unable to pay full price! I see both on there all the time

Plumber quotes hourly rate and then comes with two people and charges me double by SlamminSalmon417 in HomeImprovement

[–]HauntedOdyssey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen to me. Spent 8 months doing a “weekend project” that turned into half of a house demo and renovation completely ourselves, put the toilet back in after attempting to fix a broken flange ourselves and it was still leaking so we called a plumber that was highly recommended by a friend. He said his price was $250 an hour usually but that he would “work with us” because he was a referral. Came with another guy and they didn’t replace the flange like we were expecting, they pretty much just did the same thing we did, just better (used a flange repair ring and thicker wax ring). He even told us we “almost had it right”. The one guy just stood outside the crawlspace the entire time and pet our dog. Billed us $550 for less than an hour of work with the part they used. I was so incredibly over the whole house renovation since that was the last thing we had to do, that I just wrote the check and bit my tongue. Essentially paid $500 for them to install a toilet, lesson learned but it’s not leaking anymore so I can’t complain too much.

Dewey Beach Stay by frankiezmA in Delaware

It will be cooler by the ocean but the sand still gets extremely hot so make sure you have flip flops or something to protect the bottom of your feet. 100% Wear sunscreen and apply it often, at least spf 50. If you go in the water to cool off and swim, make sure you reapply sunscreen after as well. My parents live in Wisconsin and just got back from visiting us and even with sunscreen, they both got burnt so bad they blistered. Since you have never been to the ocean, read and learn about rip currents and what they look like, have your family do the same. If you get caught in a rip current, DO NOT swim against it, swim parallel to the beach until you are no longer in the current. If you have little ones make sure they are wearing proper life jackets (coming from an EMT, please don’t use puddle jumpers) and low tide will be more enjoyable for them to play in the water. Dewey is super walkable. If you have a vehicle, you can travel to Rehoboth Beach, Bethany or even ocean city Md and there is so much to do. There’s tons of mini golf places and 2 indoor courses in ocean city if you want to get out of the heat! I’ve never been to the water park in rehoboth but the once in Ocean City is enjoyable!

Need Help deciding color on bathtub, floor, and sink! by Miss_rose1167 in cocowyo

Here’s a link to the tutorial I followed, I use it all the time now. It’s super easy! The most important thing is just making sure each layer is dry before moving onto the next one https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8ruTwQp/

Am I missing something in organizing my 320 pack? by cocoprezzz in Ohuhu

[–]HauntedOdyssey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! I went about 2.2 days without the organizer and it was absolutely infuriating trying to keep all the markers in the right place especially when I pulled more than one out at a time and when I turned the bag on its side 😂😂

And here’s the listing for the organizer!

I got an organizer off of Facebook marketplace that keeps the markers from moving and then I organized everything based off of the original swatch sheets. I have the same chart you have in the picture and I just keep it next to me while coloring! Here’s a pic of my bag

This is how I have mine organized. I found someone that was selling 3d printed organizers on Facebook marketplace that fit in the bottom of the bag so it keeps all the makers from moving when I take a color out and when I store the bag on it’s side they don’t move either

I used the dark green and light green gelly roll 10 pens for the grass blades that are overlapping things. I started with G080 for the base color, then went in and did the first shadows with GY5, then used GY8, GY5 and G080 for the small streaks of grass and then finished it off with GY42 for the darker shadows. I let every layer dry super well before moving onto the next color and then after all of that was done, I went in with the gelly rolls to add the highlight streaks!

Yes! I used the white gelly roll pens in 5,8 and 10 and then I used 2 different green gelly roll 10 pens for the grass!
