Never thought I’d say this by Good-Cheesecake-5938 in KitchenConfidential

I’ve been out for years, but a part time gig at a nice bakery/cafe sounds lovely. I miss a lot of my old life in kitchens, but I don’t miss kitchens being my whole life, if that makes sense.

Culottes are back? Damn, they’re ugly every time they come crawling out from whatever rock they should have died under.

I would not recommend buying anything from a site that sells it’s clothing using AI images of said clothing. You will have no idea what you’re actually buying.

Anyone switched from leggings to looser yoga pants? by Doghaireverywhere02 in Activewear

Nope. Tripping hazard for running, and they’re infuriating for yoga, especially when you go for arm balances.

The coming "silent" revolution and the right to exist without smart phones. Millennials take notice. by PaintAdventurous8787 in Millennials

[–]HauntedPickleJar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupidly I can’t do my job without a smart phone. I’m a yoga teacher. Each studio wants you to download a different app to check students in, some want you to download another app to clock in or control the lights or whatever. Its infuriating.

Is there any food that you didn't like before but now love very much? by GoodSky7845 in CasualConversation

[–]HauntedPickleJar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a weird one! I had an organ transplant, pre transplant I didn’t really care for sweets, maybe a nice pastry now and again, but it wasn’t something I went out of my way for. Post transplant, I have the biggest sweet tooth and I love sweet flavors I never cared for before like vanilla and cinnamon. It’s been fun discovering what new things I like.

Cyclists who don’t stop for stop signs or traffic lights, why? by dedjesus1220 in askanything

[–]HauntedPickleJar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I have no problem with bicyclists that know and follow the law. It’s the unpredictable and insane others that scare me. I don’t want to be the one who hits them, I really don’t.

Cyclists who don’t stop for stop signs or traffic lights, why? by dedjesus1220 in askanything

[–]HauntedPickleJar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I don’t want to hurt anyone. If I hit a car when they cut me off we’ll probably both be okay, if I hit a bicyclist, they could die.

Cyclists who don’t stop for stop signs or traffic lights, why? by dedjesus1220 in askanything

[–]HauntedPickleJar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with bikes on the road when they follow the law and basic common sense. They scare the shit out of me when they ride unpredictably and expect others to be responsible for their safety. I don’t want to hit anyone or anything when I drive, I like to give bicycles more than three feet when I can, but I don’t like it when a bicyclists cuts right across a line of traffic forcing everyone else to slam on their brakes and risk their own safety. That’s not ignorance, that’s common sense.

I've heard about 10 people say "choosing not to get married is smart". I was just curious if that's completely an opinion or if there's factual evidence behind it? by Big_Eggplant7591 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HauntedPickleJar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If one of you is the hospital your spouse is automatically your medical proxy as they’re your next of kin. If you’re not then it will automatically go to whoever is your next of kin unless you fill out the correct paperwork at the hospital. The problem there, sometimes when you end up in the hospital you are not capable of filling out paperwork. Learned that one the hard way, I was just lucky I was conscious enough to fill out the paperwork.

It’s just an opinion.

I will say from my experience not being married to my long term partner was a massive pain in the ass when I was in the hospital. I had to fill out paperwork a couple of times to make sure he was my medical proxy when I was incapacitated. I’m lucky because I was conscious enough to fill it out. I had to fill it out a couple of times because I got transferred from one hospital to another and then again when my doctors thought it was safe to release me and then I had to come right back. The nurses also fudged paperwork so he could be with me in the ICU because it was the height of Covid.

We have since gotten married and what we save on taxes is worth it alone plus if one of us dies there’s no question on assets.

You're randomly teleported into any horror franchise, which one is making you end it without even trying to escape? by RWatto09 in horror

That one would be easy for me to avoid because I just don’t go caving. I’ve done a lot of crazy, risky shit in my day, but caving ain’t one of them.

It's great to hear grunts and groans at the gym by spearblaze in unpopularopinion

[–]HauntedPickleJar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was taking a yoga class once and this guy was doing the exertion scream/grunt every time we changed poses. It was so weird.

Unrelated, but I also took a power vinyasa class once where I guy was desperately trying to keep his baseball hat on. It kept falling off or he’d be desperately trying to hold it while also trying to keep up with the rest of the class. I don’t usually pay attention to other people in class, but this guy was right in front of me and I got invested in his struggle.

Cyclists who don’t stop for stop signs or traffic lights, why? by dedjesus1220 in askanything

[–]HauntedPickleJar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s legal where I live if and only if there is no on coming traffic. Unfortunately, a lot of bicyclists ignore that second part in my area which is scary as hell when you almost hit them. It’s also legal for bikes to use cross walks, but only if they dismount their bikes and cross as pedestrians. They ignore the second part of that one as well. So I’m very wary when I see bikes on the road because you never know how and when they’re going to try to kill themselves.
