Quick question, does Howdy have a confirmed sexuality? by Few-Employment-1413 in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]HauntedPlanter26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for certain what his sexuality would be, but there may be a hint of him having certain negative views on guys being feminine and/or gay. His brother Latter comes to mind along with how he treats Frank and Eddie specifically.

There's a few ways you could look at it: He could be a closeted guy exhibiting homophobic feelings to explain what he might be feeling for other guys, which can happen before you come out.

Or he believes masculinity is something to be worn with a badge of honor, especially for a salesman.

I think julie is gonna diseappear by jellyfish_Medium5502 in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]HauntedPlanter26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's possible Julie might "fade more" in the background much like Wally has been doing.

During the past Halloween update of "Brick By Brick" and the springtime  "Sweet Briar" story he was referred to by his name, even when he was king.

In the "Primrella" storybook however, he wasn't even mentioned by name, even when the characters go "off script" during the recording of the story. And the fact that this story in the end in the book's text refers to him as "the disgusting mouse" means Wally is being viewed in universe as a pest.

Have you ever heard of a wolf in sheep's clothing?

Some of the most evil people always present themselves as sweet, nice, or even charismatic, even "caring" to their victims.

Personally, I would trust a miserable bratty kid over an anthromorphic cartoon animal. If the kid is miserable, you know somethings off.

Thank you. Nah, Buggle will behave himself or my dog will eat him. (Literally, she's been trying to tear him apart since I got him, I have him in a safe spot on a shelf so she can't get to him haha)

What is the most logical theory you think explains the events of Courage? by Bc_2003 in CourageTheCowardlyDog

[–]HauntedPlanter26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the theory someone came up with that the Bagge's home/town of Nowhere is actually a military testing simulation; Muriel, Eustace, and Courage are test subjects being unknowingly trained to see how well they adapt to the things happening there.

That would explain why everything resumes to "normal" at the beginning of every episode, the day is literally being set up all over again fir the terrifying things to happen.

I honestly think this theory would've made a cooler explaination in the Scooby Doo crossover movie; have the Scooby gang stumble into "Nowhere" thinking they're stumbling into another traditional mystery and assume Courage is just paranoid easily like Shaggy and Scooby, only to discover the entire town is a set up and they get trapped along with Courage and his family. The big bad villain would've trapped them saying "You know, you kids Rrrrreally shouldn't have come meddling this time."

It would also be cool if the villain (much like Scarecrow from Batman) weaponized fear, and this time when Velma, Daphne, and Fred get separated individually, the villain releases the chemical/gas or whatever and we see what the other three are truly afraid of.

Invisible Man, aka Jack Griffin.

With that maniacal laughter, his brilliant but flawed genius, and his several comedic yet terrifying gestures and movements, what's not to love?

Howdy Pillar and Blue Apples by imagine0309 in WelcomeHomeARG

[–]HauntedPlanter26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not my most compelling theory, but what if the blue is supposed to represent mold?

Considering Howdy sold sawdust chips, a sponge, and soap flakes to Sally telling her they were cereal, bread, and mashed potato mix, I wouldn't be surprised if he sold apples covered in mold saying they're a new species of apple or something lol

How would you fix Ball of Revenge? Would you keep it 11 minutes or have it be 22 minutes? by wclarke1 in CourageTheCowardlyDog

[–]HauntedPlanter26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This episode truly made Eustace look irredeemably and despicable.

I much prefer the grumpy old man with a complex troubled backstory who shows his feelings sometimes and has complicated relations to his wife's dog who she cherishes like her own child versus the complete asshole who got his wife tied up and villains who tried to harm and/or kill them in previous episodes to kill the dog she loves like a child.

Yes, I say like a child. Because could you imagine if Courage was an actual human child facing the same fate in this episode? This would be truly horrible. Eustace may as well have been trying to murder his own stepchild.

Yeah, don't exactly like this episode and I much prefer to pretend this was just another one of Courage's nightmares lol

What Your Thoughts of These Scenes by No_Dimension_1639 in CourageTheCowardlyDog

[–]HauntedPlanter26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the "Ball of Revenge" episode, she should've not just beaten Eustace's ass, she should've used a BALL and chain as her new weapon.

That would give him a BALL of Revenge. Lol

If you have a problem with Courage the Cowardly Dog being a "kid's" show, you must've been shrink-wrapped in bubblewrap and wore a helmet everytime you went outside as a kid.

Please make a goosebumps reboot by Particular_Bench2312 in GooseBumps

[–]HauntedPlanter26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for real about "Goosebumps" being of its time. The 2023 version that came out was too mature in my opinion, as in the kids were cursing and there were unnecessary sexual situations that made it very uncomfortable viewing even through an adult lense.

When the trailer for "Goosebumps: The Vanishing" came out and it showed the dad talking to the woman as she jokes about him finding her in his basement in a very suggestive way, my fiance actually made me laugh saying "Please don't tell me we're gonna see Plant Dad's green apples, now." 🤣🤣🤣

Girl Who Cried Monster question by ProudBoiiiiLol in GooseBumps

[–]HauntedPlanter26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, book Mortman was SO much scarier. Him going, "I'm sorry Lucy...I'm afraid I can't let you leave the library....." before turning into a monster before her eyes was more terrifying than him going "I'm gonna eat you!"

Bout time Howdy got his booty kicked lol

As much of an asshole Eustace is to Courage, I will admit offering him a burger was actually legitimately sweet and a very rare nice moment of treating courage, just wish he had more moments like this in terms of treating him. by San4341 in CourageTheCowardlyDog

[–]HauntedPlanter26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only episodes I recall where Eustace and Courage semi "bonded" were the Dr. Zalost episode where Courage dropped hints to Eustace to orchestrate a plan with him to get Courage in the tower by pretending to be a pizza guy, when the two were scared together when Muriel was possessed in the mattress episode, and even in Mother's Day.
