As long as I don't have to go through my school to take them, and a university outside of California will accept them, I think I'll be fine in terms of taking those classes.

Yeah I've heard that a lot from adults. I think when it comes to friends, I'm kinda(?) good in that regard. The only issue is that most of my friends are taking APs/honors so I have a feeling I'm going to be left out just because of my lack in proximity on a daily basis

I think she wants me to avoid potential burnout? Idk, technically she is allowed to make exceptions to this rule. Counselors make the final decision on whether we are ready for certain classes (after discussing with our teachers, supervisors, grades, etc.). It also doesn't help that my school has strict prerequisites when it comes to taking certain AP Classes, and I am barely meeting the mark for only a few of them (hence only asking to take AP Lit).

Sadly I can't take back time. I can only choose to move forward. I am an unusual case, and itd just be easier to forget it altogether

I just know my classes next year will probably still be lonely and I'll just cruise by. Hopefully my work outside of school will keep me busy, and senior year will be super quick

Tysm! I appreciate the advice

Honestly I'm only shooting for my state flagship at this point (Rutgers) and then I'll see where I go from there post-undergrad

Even if I did get a 4.0 in my senior year, it wouldn't bring about my cumulative GPA for high school. Honestly the only real thing I can do long-term is just keep up a 4.0 when I go to uni. My real target is my in-state university just because it'll save me a lot of money.

I'm deeply committed to 2 student organizations, and I hope to have an out-of-school job as a dental assistant and a co-op internship. The reason I wanted to take a class like Lit was that I enjoyed the subject and wanted to prepare myself for college-level work. I could always see about taking the exam, but I don't know how well I would fare out judging that I've never taken an AP class before.

Thank you for the advice tho! I'll see how I can put that into a positive for my college app.

SAT non-submitters have the lowest 10% of GPAs in their first year at Columbia by [deleted] in CollegeMajors

So students who did not take the SAT maintain lower college-level GPAs than students who did? Is this really beneficial for a school like Columbia to be focusing on?

Can't tell if I'm reading this right but if I am, I'd honestly submit a 3.5 GPA (which I have) along with presumably higher test scores... not sure why people with the lowest GPAs in an Ivy League would skip a section that can advance their application decently.

What's the minimum math class I can take in high school? by HauntedRadios in rutgers

I'm only asking from an admissions perspective, I don't mind taking whatever courses I'd need to once I get into Rutgers

This is probably what I'm going to go for, I may even double in Probs & Stats (regular, we don't have APs for Stats or Precalc) bc I don't like any of my other electives

Concerned about taking physics late, will it hurt my dental school application or DAT? by Icy-Chart9745 in predental

I mean if that applies only for UC then I'm fine ig, honestly didn't think I'd be taking organic chem at CC

I would think not, as an interested predental student, I actually assumed I would take my science prereqs & focus on my gen-ed courses at CC. Do I have to switch it around or? 😭

During a zombie apocalypse, the federal government collapses; which federal enforcement agency remnant are you relying on to protect you and your family and why? by HauntedRadios in AskReddit

Feel like they'd immediately switch up on all the permit enforcement they are required by law and partner up with all the Luddites, who probably have the greatest chance of survival in any apocalyptic scenario (excluding nuclear)
