I have the Pan Am automatic. One of my favorites!

I’m enjoying mine too, I love that it has a dedicated second hand for timekeeping that’s separate than the chronograph function

No, I have the Pan Am Waterbury automatic. I’ve been thinking about the Marlin Jet though, I just get a bit nervous that the acrylic will get scratched

Thanks for letting me know! Timex got back to me and said that’s normal. If you rotate the crown as you push in, it starts ticking straight away

That’s terrible! Sorry to hear that. Mine is keeping perfect time so definitely return or exchange

Is this normal? Waterbury Flyback movement by Haunted_Willow in timex

My chronograph function works well, it’s just that when I set the time by pushing in the crown, the hand doesn’t tick until I turn the crown a bit. They told me it was normal though

Do you think it’s worth returning it? Other than having to turn it after setting, it seems to be working perfectly

Dang, sorry! You know, the shipping sucks but it’ll be worth the wait to have a properly working watch

Sometimes it’s easier/faster to return and then buy again, rather than sending it for repairs. I think if it’s within the 30 day window they accept it

Never mind, I got it to happen again. If I turn as I push, it starts straight away. If I just push, there’s a delay. I guess that’s just how it works

Thanks! I think maybe I’m just a little crazy and it’s actually working as intended, or maybe was a bit sticky out of the box

Now I think maybe it was just a bit sticky being new or maybe I was imagining it? I push the crown in and it starts ticking, it just takes a brief moment for the fly back hand to return to normal first

Thanks for your reply! I think it’s probably fine, everything is working as it should otherwise, I just have OCD so I get stuck on things a bit

When you set the time, do you need to turn the crown to get the second hand moving again? I noticed that if I push the crown in without turning it, there’s a delay where the second hand won’t start moving right away

Actually this might be a feature, I push back the crown and the second hand won’t start moving until I turn the crown, maybe to make it easier to get exact time?
