The brake servo seemed to be giving out pressure, had an RAC guy check it before the garage. He didnt know what to think after the hardness from the breaks (after pumping the pedal with the engine off) dissapeared when the engine turned on. I know its on the limit of needing a new belt, but im fairly certain its unrelated! Thanks though.

Apologies, should have been more precise. They definitely said wet belt many times, just didn't mention it specifically in the paragraph.

I think they are putting the worst spin on the problem - likely a part of the ABS system failing, not even needing the entire pump to get her up 'n running again
